Delegates and observers going to Bournemouth need to take the following information with them - the Annual Meeting Agenda and the Annual Report. - and any other relevant information from the pack. Next steps - all WIs have one vote on BOTH resolutions - for or against. WIs should now consider how you wish your Link delegate to vote on your behalf at the Annual Meeting. Your WI will be contact- ed to seek your decision before the event. Awards presented at the May Day Garden Party. Congratulations to Penllwyn WI on reaching their centenary. Their President received a certificate from both NFWI and CFWI. Llanddewi Brefi WI was presented with a certificate from NFWI to celebrate their WI reaching their 50th year. Recruitment Awards. The Mari Vaughan Jones salver for the highest percentage increase in member- ship was won by Seaside Sisters WI, New Quay and the Marion Gordon Jones Cup for the highest in- crease in the number of members was won by Cellan WI. The prettiest hat competition in the May Day Garden Party was won by Sue Jones of Genau’r Glyn WI and the prize for the most spectacular hat won by Philippa Chisolm of Waun Fawr WI. The Federation round of the national Elizabeth Bell Competition depicting the life of the WI in 12 images and 100 words was judged by photographer Arvid Parry Jones. Winning WIs were 1. Cenarth WI; 2. Pontrhydfendigaid WI and 3. WI. Thank you all for competing. ACWW ‘Women Walk the World’ - Margaret Fogg would like to thank Evana, Gill, Janet and Marga- ret, the four CFWI Group Convenors, for their help in making these walks so successful. Thanks also to all the members who helped organise and took part in the walks. Over £250 has been raised for ‘Pennies for Friendship’. We then end our successful tree project with a CFWI visit to the Llanilar Woodland Millennium Lake - Saturday September 28th. Meet at the Llanilar village hall at 1.30 pm for 3 speakers and a guided walk. Focusing on the old railway line, the famous swing bridge and a woodland walk. £3 per person including refreshments.
