of dancers Edward Villella and Patricia McBride, with members the Boston Ballet Company, will present a unique demonstration-performance of the ballet "Apollo" at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28. Curtain time is 8:30 p. m. in Kresge Auditorium. As the Abramowitz Memorial Lecture for 1967, the evening of ballet will begin with a commentary by B. H. Haggin, noted author, critic and reviewer for "The New Republic," danced "The Yale Review, " and "Commonweal. " Exerpts from Stravinsky's "Apollo" will be as by Mr. Villella and Miss McBride, with Robert Irving, New York City Ballet conductor, pianist. A complete performance of the ballet will follow, choreographed by , whose interpretation of the story of the youthful god Apollo and the three muses was first performed in 1937. Boston ballerinas Mary Bigelow, Geraldine Gagnon, June Perry, Ana- marie Sarazin and Valerie Windsor will dance as the muses and handmaidens. The Abramowitz Memorial Lecture Series has been made possible through the gift of William L. Abramowitz of the M. I. T. Class of 1935. The series began in 1961 and has included performances by of the New York City Ballet, performances by the Metropolitan Opera Studio and a concert of Elliot Carter's music.
