As the Year of the Rooster kicks off, the Newsletter Sub-Committee would like to extend their wishes to all members and readers of Keppel Links. The year 2017 is going to be a challenging year. My wish is to see all Keppelites and Keppel staff enjoy their time at the Club come what may. Happy New Year! ~ Peter Teo, Convenor, Newsletter We wish everyone and staff good health, good fortune and a year full of opportunity and abundance. ~ Helen Neo and Susie Seow Editor’s Note New year, new start Happy New Year to all members and readers of Keppel Links! With the Lunar New Year celebrations around the corner, we speak to some of our club “Roosters”, and find out everyone’s resolutions for 2017. From working out at the gym more to spending less, what are your New Year resolutions? Be sure to share your plans on our social media accounts – we’d love to hear from you on Keppel’s Facebook, Instagram and e-mail! Also, in this special bumper issue, we look back at two main Christmas events that took place at our club in the month of December, including the epic fun golf event and the adorable Children’s Party. Members are also advised to take note of the club’s operating hours during the Lunar New Year period (page 3) and mark your calendars for our annual celebrations on Feb 4! Toss the prosperous yusheng with your friends and family, and revel in a club tradition that both children and adults can enjoy. Popular emcee Marcus Chin will be providing the afternoon’s entertainment, along with some fantastic Lion and Dragon Dance performances. Excited about what’s in store for the new year? We’ll also give you an exclusive peek at your new Keppel website and Members’ Portal that will be launched in February. And the “new kids on the block”, SITA Tennis Academy, are actively looking for new players to join in their league, so don’t forget to flip to page 22 for the full details from the academy director himself, Mr Stephen Pellow. Sadly, in late November, Keppel also mourned the passing of two of our existing and former golfing staff, Mr Abdul Wahab Ibrahim and Mr Mohamad Subarman Roslan. We would like to send our condolences to their loved ones, and will always remember their service and dedication to both members and the club. On a separate note, we are also grateful for all our long-serving staff, who have crossed key milestones for us (page 11) and hope that they will continue to serve the club well. On behalf of all of us at Keppel Club, Gong Xi Fa Cai and a fantastic start to 2017 for everyone!
