One of them is to provide app-based COVID-19±related services to the public. As the pandemic continues, a need for various apps has emerged, including COVID-19 apps that can support activities aimed at overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic. Objective: We aimed to determine which apps were considered the most necessary according to users and evaluate the current status of the development of COVID-19±related apps in South Korea. We also aimed to determine users'acceptance and concerns related to using apps to support activities to combat COVID-19. Methods: We collected data from 1148 users from a web-based survey conducted between November 11 and December 6, 2020. -

Dr. Jung holds her doctoral degree in Education from Seoul National University(Ph. D and M. Ed.), and teaches several subjects such as ‘Lifelong Learning’, ‘Feminist Pedagogy’, and ‘Development and Education’, and ‘Social Movement and Lifelong Learning’. Jean Adama Jean Adama completed his MA in TESOL from California State University, Sacramento and now teaches conversation and Business English courses at Seoul National University of Science and Technology in Seoul. He has taught in three different countries across a varied range of abilities and language skills. So-Yeon Ahn So-Yeon Ahn currently lectures at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, where she conducts several research studies having to do with culture in language learning and language teacher identity. She has research interests in language and cultural awareness, social and cultural approaches to language learning, and language ideology and identity. Eunsook Ahn Eunsook Ahn is an EFL program administrator at the Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) Institute for Language Education and Research (ILER) where she manages several foreign language programs (English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean). She holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature from Kwangwoon University and is currently enrolled in the Educational Administration graduate program at Yonsei University. Shannon Ahrndt Shannon Ahrndt is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Seoul National University, where she teaches Culture & Society, Writing, and Speaking courses. Explains its higher education system which has a very high GER. States that education has significantly contributed to its high economic growth in a very short period starting from 1960s. Dwells on the state of public, academic and special libraries. Public libraries are quite a developed lot due to socially active programs like “Citizen Action for Reading Culture”. Lastly it explains the origin and development of LIS education from graduate to doctoral programmes in South Korea since 1950s. International Journal of Religion November 2020 Volume: 1 | Number 1 | pp. 23 – 43 ISSN: 2633-352X (Print) | ISSN: 2633-3538 (Online) journals.tplondon.com/ijor First Submitted: 2 July 2020 Accepted: 1 November 2020 DOI: https://doi.org/10.33182/ijor.v1i1.1073 Creating the Internal Enemy: Opportunities and Threats in Pro and Anti-LGBT Activism within South Korean Protestantism Hendrik Johannemann1 Abstract In recent years, South Korea has experienced significant mobilization against LGBT rights, mainly emanating from conservative Protestant forces. This anti-LGBT mobilization has been attributed to the need to create an “external enemy” as a means for covering up internal scandals. This study examines how the Protestant anti-LGBT movement creates an “internal enemy”, too, by fighting against pro-LGBT activism and attitudes within its faith. Applying the contentious politics and movement- countermovement frameworks to the study of religious conflict, the article uncovers the mechanisms at work in the complex interactions among anti-LGBT, moderate, and LGBT-affirmative actors. The analysis of five cases – heresy trials against a pro- LGBT pastor, conflicts at Christian universities, vilifications of a progressive Christian online newspaper and a church association, and the controversy around a moderate junior pastor – shows that perceived and deliberately created threats play a productive, opportunity-like role in religious contention over LGBT issues. Longstanding religiopolitical cleavages come to the fore, too, involving conflictual relations with state actors external to Korean Protestantism.
