This checklist summarizes all the hardware installation and software configuration steps required to deploy a storage device in your . It also provides information on where to download the latest documentation for detailed instructions when deploying your device.

NOTICE Review the Azure StorSimple Appliance Safety Guide prior to configuring your storage device.

Hardware configuration 1. Ensure that hardware installation is complete as per the detailed instructions in StorSimple Appliance 8600 Hardware Installation Guide. Download the most recent version of the installation guide from this link: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=328049 2. Use the following list to ensure that the installation steps are complete.

Software configuration 1. Download the Microsoft Azure StorSimple Appliance Walkthrough Guide for detailed software configuration instructions from this link: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=328046 Configure your device as per the downloaded instructions. 2. Ensure that the service level configuration is complete by verifying against the following list. Skip this step if you already have an existing Azure StorSimple Manager service and proceed to device level configuration.
