“The New Academic Structure and the Diploma of Secondary Education -- A New Basis for Recruiting the Best Person for the Job”

With the implementation of the New Academic Structure in September 2009, the first batch of graduates will take the new Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination in 2012.

From then on, employers will be receiving a new qualification, the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE). How are you, as employers, going to make reference to this qualification in setting entry requirements? How to interpret candidates’ results attained in this new public examination? How is this new qualification different from the HKCEE and HKALE qualifications under the old academic structure?

To facilitate employers in preparing recruitment and related matters, the and the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) co-organise the seminar “The New Academic Structure and the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education -- A New Basis for Recruiting the Best Person for the Job” which will be held on 15 August. This seminar will cover the New Academic Structure, the HKDSE qualification and acceptance of qualifications under the New Academic Structure for civil service appointment purposes.
