Thank you all for another great Box Tops contest. You earned about $250 for OLPH just by clipping Box Tops!

The winner of this contest was 5th grader August Nemec, who received a gift card to a local retailer. The 5th grade collected more Box Tops than any other grade, so Box Tops Bear will spend some time in their classroom. Keep checking Angel Ink for news of our next contest!

SCRIP Program Updates

**NEW!!** www.MyScripWallet.com

You can order electronic gift cards, reload physical cards, and in many cases redeem them right from your phone! And it’s fully integrated with ShopWithScrip.com, so you only need one login and you can use your PrestoPay account in both places. MyScripWallet lets you shop on-the-go, earning rebates on every purchase.

You can login to MyScripWallet using your same ShopWithScrip® username and password. Once online, you can browse the full selection of direct delivery products available on ShopWithScrip.com with the same great rebates, then place an order and pay with PrestoPay right on your phone! MyScripWallet is supported on Apple and Android mobile devices—just type www.MyScripWallet.com into the browser, login, and you’ll be ready to shop!

MyScripWallet also gives you access to any ScripNow® eCard you’ve purchased, even when you’re on the go. ShopWithScrip and MyScripWallet are fully synchronized, so you’ll be able to view eCards you’ve purchased on either site, whether you ordered them on your desktop or through MyScripWallet. Even better, many stores will allow you to redeem eCards, and reloaded plastic cards, right off the screen of your mobile device. If the printed eCard or physical reload card is required, you’ll see that noted right on the product page.

For questions regarding the Scrip program, please contact Jeff Taegel, at [email protected]. From the nurse’s oFFice

Last Friday was such a fun day here at OLPH, and I hope everyone enjoyed the Halloween weekend. The weather continues to be very unpredictable so please remember jackets on cool days as the students will go outside for recess.

ATTENION PARENTS: This notice is posted on the Howard County Health Department website. “Due to delay in shipping from FluMist and flu shot manufacturers, the Health Department has a limited supply of vaccine at this time. As soon as we receive vaccine, we will post Flu Clinic dates and times. In the interim, please consider getting your flu shot at a local grocery store, pharmacy, retailer or big box store. Many offer the shot and service for free. For those with chronic illnesses or compromised immune system it is important to get your vaccine soon. Should you have any questions, call us at 410-313-7500.” As we hear of any new clinics being offered, we will be sure to pass the information along. Just a reminder, we ask you to assist us by keeping children home from school when they are ill. Children with vomiting should remain home for 24 hours after the cessation of vomiting. Students who are ill and have a temperature over 100 degrees orally should remain at home until the temperature has been normal (while not using Tylenol, Advil or other aspirin substitute) for 24 hours. Never use aspirin to treat a fever in children as it is associated with a serious life threatening condition called Reyes Syndrome.

As you know, vision screening was held on Wednesday, October 21st for all students in first, fourth, and eighth grades as well as all new students to OLPH this year who did not have a screening record on file. All parents have now been notified of the results. Please contact us if you have not heard from us. For those students who did not pass the vision screening, please return the follow up portion of the letter you received once your child has been further evaluated by a vision specialist.

Loyola Clinical Center was here this week to screen students in Pre K, first and eighth grade as well as all new students to OLPH who do not already have a screening record. Results will be sent home soon.

Feel free to call us with any questions or concerns, and as always, we appreciate all you do to support us here in the Nurse’s Office.

Sincerely, Sally Minardi, R.N. Karen Mellendick, R.N.
