Namaste,

ummer has arrived in full swing! Though the temperature is rising, it is the universal season of light and warmth. To balance the heat and energy of the hot weather, various Yoga practices help to cultivate the opposite environment of cool and calm inside the Sbody. By opting for activities and foodstuff that are cooling, we can nourish our system and help increase our energy levels. There are certainly many more holistic benefits of continuing our Yoga practice in the summer too! As most of these practices help the body to self-regulate, they not only energize and refresh us but also relax and rejuvenate us. These also send a calming wave through the nervous system. Summer is just a part of change as one season flows into another. We need to just go with the flow and simply follow techniques that ensure our overall well being.

Across the globe, many of us remember our mothers and mother figures on Mother’s Day. And there are various ways to express our appreciation for them on this special day, dedicated to honoring motherhood. Whatever way we choose, our aim on this day should be to be grateful to them and make them feel very special.

We are celebrating Mother's Day by sharing about the beautiful bond between our Pujya Maa Hansaji, also revered as the universal Maa, and her mother Taraji who is lovingly called Nani by all. In this issue, Dr Jayadeva clearly states that one cannot divorce spirituality from reality, the two go together. Also know how Yoga can help to offset the ill-effects of binge watching which has become a norm amongst our generation.

The Every process of life, all the things that occur in this world, can be seen as result is seen at the end somewhere. But each part has its role. This idea of a large process, a large design into which all of us fit. Things are not sacrifice was that we carry on our work of making offerings, and as a meaningless. There is a reason, a purpose, an objective in every little result of these offerings, the ecological process is going on. A very nice activity that goes on around us. Yoga does not believe that the world or verse in the Gita tells us that this whole world is like a sacrificial session, the universe is without purpose or meaning. Modern physics today has with each one of us making an offering. But in reality it is not we who are created a thinking that there is an element of uncertainty in everything making the offering, it is the larger process itself that is working through that is going on, called indeterminism. This is contrary to the Indian view, us. So in a way the one who is offering that what is offered and that to which sees a lot of meaning in every little occurrence; It says that all of us whom the offering is made, all this is the same one reality. are related to each other in a larger design, a larger pattern.

The Gita tells us that we are in a sense the creature of our own destiny. We are all either swimming together or sinking together. So we have to support each other. So the situations that are occurring around us are all in a way helping us in our own evolution. We are related to each and every one, so the Indian thinking takes a very unified view of life. It takes the stand that there is a benevolent reality, a larger process that help us in our growth. It does not see meaninglessness in our existence, something that is very frustrating to us all. When we see things going on around us that are not at all right, we ask ourselves ‘why is this world as it is? Why is it so wicked, why so imperfect? ANJALI SHETE (SAVUR), TEACHER AT THE YOGA INSTITUTE

Like most people, I came to The Yoga Institute in 1984 with the misconception that Yoga is asanas. I did not want to join. But seeing my severe asthma and skin problems, a colleague literally dragged me. After meeting Hansaji and Dr. Jayadevji, I joined the special class and later decided to join 7 days Health Camp and 7 months TTC as I was also going through emotional issues, had very low self-esteem and had become an agnostic, severe sciatica pain and skin problem leading to osteoporosis .

Dr Sahab then told me to do only asanas and pranayama and to develop faith. I took the decision that if I can’t do techniques, I’ll start practising the philosophy. Being actively involved “ at TYI I also kept me in constant touch with Yogendra family who constantly encouraged me. Today I am much calmer, positive, less angry and full of courage and confident. Working as coordinator and teacher with 1MTTC has only enhanced these qualities. My life has changed and I continue to walk on this path.

TESTIMONIALS

For perfect Yoga school my attention came to The Yoga Institute because this school was PASCAL BAERTEN, exceeding every of my criteria like recognised globally, perfect environment for spiritual STUDENT FROM growth, philosophy rooted to tradition. Having a look at the books published by the institute BELGIUM and seeing that the 100-year-old school is certified by the Quality Council of India managed to convince me to trust the institute. “

So, I joined the 3 Months Advanced TTC at The Yoga Institute. Of course, I learned at the Institute a lot about Yoga (both practical and theoretical) but the more important is that this was done in an immersive yogic atmosphere that gradually brought my mind to a state of tranquillity. The knowledge of the teachers is impressive and their sincerity. It changed my perspective towards way of life . I also saw a comparable change in every of my classmates.

Taking a three months break in a professional life is not so easy and can be challenging; the sustained effort during the three months classes is also significative, but from my experience, it was worth the sacrifice.

NILESH T GHANEKAR, Yoga is melody of the mind and harmony SADHAKA of the soul that creates the symphony of life. I am so lucky, because I got an opportunity to work in a 100-year-old Yoga institute. I have been working at the Institute for the last 12 years.

Here, staff, colleagues and teachers are very supportive. Smt. Hansaji is the director of the Institute and she always encourages us to participate in Yoga activities. BIJAL GOSARIA, STUDENT FROM JUHU In today’s polluted life, our Institute is the best place of greenery and peace. CENTRE I love my Yoga Institute.

It's a must for today's lifestyle of any and every generation to do Yoga. I wish The Yoga Institute Juhu would have opened up way earlier! It teaches Yoga as not just asanas and pranayama but life as one whole totality. I also learned that Yoga is not only about asanas but its a much deeper subject. I feel so refreshed post class. I really thank the whole The Yoga Institute team for being such a big help!

Now, why is this so that even the light of truth is not able to bring about changes in rigid persons’ opinions? The reason is this: A person who is in a dark room cannot see anything. That is natural. Only if light is brought, can he see. But we must remember: If a room is extremely dark and all of a sudden a very bright light is brought, then one cannot see anything either because one is dazzled.

So it is the same with too much truth that comes too suddenly. Its glare is too much, and instead of making the poor person in the dark see, it will only hurt his eyes. So naturally, he will quickly close his eyes and be unwilling to open them again before the glaring light is removed. And so- in spite of all the light – he remains in the dark.

“The birth of the first child carried humanity with it.”
