The Val Sarentino/Sarntal Valley “Huf- eisentour” is a real adventure for sure-footed hikers, but also immensely popular with families with children. This high-altitude hike in the heart of South Tyrol is available in both the „extreme“ class and the „family- friendly“ variety. The six or seven stages go from hut to hut though the most beautiful spots of the Alpi Val Sarentino/Sarntal Valley Alps and offer stunning views of the ice-covered, 3.000 meter high peaks an jagged summits of the Dolomites. SUMMER 9 mountain | hiking Lots of fun at the summit storming. 10 SUMMER wandernmountain || traumpfadebiking The sports-loving biker will be amazed at the unexpected possibilities. But before you get ready you should remember that steep ascents are normal in a mountainous region like the Sarentino Valley. You should get ready for 600 to 700 meters difference in altitude. The less experienced cyclists may obtain detailed information at the tourist information office. SUMMER 11 mountain | bike Mike Felderer (Italian MTB-Pro up until 2013) and Walter Perkmann (Manager of the Sarentino Valley Tourist Office) are good friends and both enthusiastic mountain bikers. The two conduct the weekly guided mountain bike tours. Mike operates Mike’s Bike Garage (Sarentino village), where you can get a lot of technical service and plenty of personal advice. Since the summer of 2013, Mike has been host to kids and technical freaks at the new Mike’s Bike Park. SUMMER 13 sarentino | costumes On holidays and often also weekdays the people of the Sarentino Valley wear their especially beautiful costumes. Especially those of the men are very different from the other South Tyrol cos- tumes. Over the tight loden trousers with wide leather belts (“Fatsch”) and braces (“Krax”) they also wear the hand-knitted “Jangger”, a piece of clothing which nowadays is also a very popular leisure jacket. Fine feathers make fine birds.
