    Juryrapport Kinderboekenonderzoek 2016 Juryrapport Kinderboekenonderzoek 2016 Inleiding De Bond tegen vloeken vraagt aandacht voor goed en respectvol taalgebruik. Grove vloeken en scheldwoorden passen volgens de Bond niet in een kinderboek. De kracht van woorden is niet te onderschatten. Het is belangrijk dat kinderen in aanraking komen met respectvol taalgebruik. Kinderen zijn beïnvloedbaar en volgen voorbeelden gemakkelijk na. Citaat van een leerling tijdens een gastles van KlasseTaal (onderwijsafdeling van de Bond tegen vloeken): Als je veel grove woorden leest, lijkt het alsof ze gewoon zijn. De Bond tegen vloeken voert jaarlijks in de maanden september en oktober een Kinderboeken- onderzoek uit. Het onderzoek beperkt zich tot de boeken die door de Stichting Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek (CPNB) genomineerd zijn voor een prijs (Gouden Griffel) of die een bijzondere waardering (Vlag en Wimpel) hebben ontvangen. Uit onderzoek blijkt, dat 99% van de ouders hun kinderen corrigeert, wanneer ze ruwe woorden gebruiken. Het is bekend dat ouders en opvoeders via de Kijkwijzer gewezen wordt op de aanwezigheid van grove taal in tv-programma’s en films. Bij kinderboeken ontbreekt een dergelijke signalering. Het kinderboekenonderzoek van de Bond tegen vloeken heeft als zodanig een signaalfunctie. Aan het onderzoek werken verschillende juryleden mee. Zij screenen de boeken op vloeken en alle andere grove taal. Het is niet de bedoeling om een literair oordeel te vellen of de inhoud van het boek te beoordelen. De Bond tegen vloeken let op de hoeveelheid grove woorden, de mate waarin grove taal gebezigd wordt. Niet alle grove woorden zijn even zwaar. Er wordt mede gelet op de intensiteit van de grove taal.

Marius is een vriend van Tiuri. Die heeft hij ontmoet in het vorige boek. Toen Tiuri een brief aan de koning moest brengen. Hij noemt Tiuri zijn Vriend hij is niet helemaal normaal, daarom noemt Tiuri hem ook Dwaas i.p.v Marius.

    Juryrapport Kinderboekenonderzoek 2019 Juryrapport Kinderboekenonderzoek 2019 Inleiding De Bond tegen vloeken voert jaarlijks een Kinderboekenonderzoek uit. Bij dit onderzoek wordt gekeken naar de mate waarin grove taal gebezigd wordt. Een lezersjury noteert alle woorden die vallen onder onbeschaafd taalgebruik. Het onderzoek heeft als zodanig een signaalfunctie. Tijdens of rond de Kinderboekenweek brengt de Bond tegen vloeken verslag uit. De pers wordt ervan op de hoogte gesteld. Kinderboekenonderzoek 2019 nieuwe stijl Het onderzoek van 2019 is gewijzigd ten opzichte van vorige jaren. Voorgaande jaren werd gekeken naar de boeken die door de Stichting Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek (CPNB) waren bekroond en gewaardeerd. Dit zijn de zogenaamde Griffelboeken en Vlag en wimpel-boeken. Ook prentenboeken en informatieve werden beoordeeld. Bij de nieuwe opzet is gekeken naar de boeken die van de Griffeljury een Zilveren Griffel (de leesboeken) hebben ontvangen. De categorieën informatieve boeken en prentenboeken zijn achterwege gelaten. Nieuw is, dat dit jaar tevens gekeken is naar boeken die door de Kinderjury zijn geselecteerd en die een Publieksprijs of Senaatsprijs hebben ontvangen. Waarom deze verandering? De griffelboeken behoren tot de top van de kinderliteratuur, maar bereiken wellicht een minder groot publiek. Vandaar dat ook een selectie van de Kinderjury is meegenomen, die door een breder publiek gelezen wordt. Ook is het interessant om te kijken of er verschillen zijn qua taalgebruik in de boeken die van de beide jury’s een waardering hebben gekregen. De Bond tegen vloeken wil met dit onderzoek aandacht vragen voor goed en respectvol taalgebruik. Vloeken, scheldwoorden en andere grove taal passen volgens de Bond niet in een kinderboek.

Die zit eenzaam aan een bureau op een pen te kauwen of naar de schrijfmachine te staren. De auteur weet helemaal niet hoe de eventuele lezer op het verhaal zal reageren. Enthousiast? Zal het verhaal begrepen worden? Een auteur kan ook niets meer corrigeren; zoals hij zijn geschiedenis eenmaal geschreven heeft, zo blijft het er staan. Ook voor lezers die in andere landen en culturen leven of in andere tijden als het verhaal een ‘blijvertje’ is. Een Caraïbische auteur heeft het nog moeilijker, want die schrijft vaak niet alleen voor lezers in eigen tijd en land, maar ook nog voor lezers die ver daarbuiten wonen - in Nederland bijvoorbeeld - en in een andere taal dan die thuis geleerd is.

It was quite a big step to take after having completed a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Culture. I experienced a rough start, but I am glad I kept going to have finally made it here to this point in time. At the end of the second year, I took on an internship at Taalcentrum-VU and learned a whole lot about working in the translation sector. After completing this internship, I took on a temporary job in the cultural sector. The important difference between the internship and the job was the fact that during my internship, I was surrounded by people with a sincere interest in language. Language is where my heart is, and it is the area in which I want to continue developing myself. These past two years have been difficult at times, but the most important lesson is that through these difficulties, I have realised what I want to do. After this ‘small’ break from my studies, I had a difficult time putting my mind back on my thesis subject and writing it again. Many thanks to my parents, close friends and boyfriend who made me remember why I wanted to write my thesis about Paul Biegel’s Nachtverhaal , and encouraged me to pick it up again and go for it.

Het onderzoek beperkt zich tot de boeken die door de Stichting Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek (CPNB) zijn geselecteerd en die een Zilveren griffel, penseel of palet hebben ontvangen. Ook de boeken die een bijzondere waardering (Vlag en Wimpel) van hebben gekregen zijn onderzocht op taalgebruik. De Bond tegen vloeken let op de hoeveelheid grove woorden, de mate waarin grove taal gebezigd wordt. Niet alle grove woorden zijn even zwaar. Er wordt mede gelet op de intensiteit van de grove taal. Het kinderboekenonderzoek van de Bond tegen vloeken heeft als zodanig een signaalfunctie. Tijdens de Kinderboekenweek brengt de Bond tegen vloeken verslag uit. De pers wordt ervan op de hoogte gesteld. De Bond tegen vloeken vraagt aandacht voor goed en respectvol taalgebruik. Grove vloeken en scheldwoorden passen volgens de Bond niet in een kinderboek. Kinderen zijn beïnvloedbaar en volgen voorbeelden gemakkelijk na. De impact van woorden is niet te onderschatten. Het is belangrijk dat kinderen in aanraking komen met respectvol taalgebruik.
