Ken Weitzel MBA ‘83

Ken “KD” Weitzel has been a member of the Alumni Advisory Board since 2011, and is serving this year as our Board Chairman. An advisor and to senior IT and business executives, KD brings over 30 years of business and technology experience to his clients. Working as a project manager, strategy facilitator, technology expert, and research analyst, he has interacted with business executives of all stripes in every region of the globe.

KD recently joined Slalom Consulting’s office as Practice Director for Strategy and Operations. For the previous 13 years he has served as an advisor, facilitator, and research manager for CEB, the global business best-practice advisory firm, recently acquired by Gartner. KD has also been a consultant on technology-driven change with , PepsiCo, Hewlett-Packard, Ernst & Young LLP, Computer Sciences Corporation, and Scient Corporation. He was the founder and managing director of FutureFoundry LLC, a network-based consulting concern for strategic planning, change management, and executive alignment.

KD earned his MBA in Information Systems Management from the full-time program here at the University of Texas, and a BA in Liberal Arts from Austin College in Sherman. On the MBA Advisory Board since 2011, he served as Vice Chair for the 2016-17 academic year. After a couple of decades living in Dallas, Singapore, Sumatra, Dallas, Amarillo, , , Dallas, Brussels, San Jose, and Washington DC, KD and his wife Celia returned to Dallas in 2005. Their son Braden is a sophomore in the Butler School of Music at UT, and daughter Lindsay is a junior pre-med at Texas A&M. Really.
