The cars, in order to be classified CSAI, must respect the CSAI sporting and technical regulations applicable, published in the CSAI 2007 yearbook (in particular: NS1 Ch. IV and the NS16 b Ch. II) and those indicated from here on. The cars will be divided according to the following classes on the basis of their cylinder capacity:

FIA EHC:

Category I up to 1400 cm3 from 1400 to 1600 cm3 from 1600 to 2000 cm3 from 2000 to 3000 cm3 over 3000 cm3 Category II up to 1600 cm3 from 1600 to 2000 cm3 from 2000 to 3000 cm3

In Group E1 the following cars are admitted: a) all homologated Tourism cars and Gran Tourism cars with expired homologation or not homologated provided that their date of construction is not prior to 1.1.1994 (validity is the date of the first registration of the car) or with national or international homologation in course of validity in 1994 and conforming to the “E1 Italy technical rules” published in the appendix to the NS16 with a CSAI technical passport for Group "E1 Italy"; b) all the cars admitted in 2004 (see. NS1 Ch. The competitors must present, in any case, if requested by the technical scrutineers, adequate documentation (constructors declarations, use and maintenance manuals, garage manuals, etc.) in order to show the date of construction of the vehicle and the technical data to allow for the control of the vehicles conformity regarding the technical regulations. All the cars of the Group E1 Italy must respect, for safety measures, the rules of the J Appendix in force regarding the FIA Group E1 (art. 277). The cars prepared according to the E1 rules approved by other ASNs can compete in Italy only in the competitions in which they acquire points for FIA titles (therefore, competitions for Central European Zone Trophies – CEZ are excluded). The coefficient of multiplication of 1,5 of the cylinder capacity foreseen by the FIA is not applied to the cars equipped with turbodiesel engines for Group E1 Italy. For security reasons, the tires of the cars coming from Mono-mark Trophies or similar competitions taking place on a closed race track (i.e., Ferrari Challenge, Citroen Saxo, etc.) which will be participating in the Group E1 Italy are free from respecting the mix and dimensions established by the originating regulations of the vehicle. Please Note: For the admission of other typologies of cars the Competitors must apply for admission at least 60 days before the date of the interested competition to the CSAI Hill Climb Commission – Corso Venezia 45 - 20121 Milan which will decide upon the admissibility of the vehicle in due time.

The used tires must show that they have been used in prior Hill Climb races (i.e. punching/stamping or other systems accepted by the technical scrutineers). Controls and punching/stamping will be performed by the Scrutineers. Sanctions will be inflicted on the transgressors by the Stewards up to the exclusion from the race and they will be reported to the Sporting Judges. The Manufacturers of tires must stamp the pneumatics in such way that is possible to ascertain their identification and traceability in order to allow for verification and control by the Scrutineers. The use of rain tires is without limitation of number. c) CN cars constructed prior to 1.1.2004 (roll bar) All CN vehicles constructed prior to 1.1.2004 which participate in Hill-Climb races held in Italy and driven by CSAI licensed drivers must respect the specific CSAI security rules regarding roll bars ref: NS10 Ch.
