SUBJECT: Addendum No.1

This four (4) page Addendum forms a part of the project scope documents and modifies the project scope for the above-referenced project. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject the Bidder to disqualification.

This Addendum makes the following changes and/or clarifications:

Apartment 6

Increase the subfloor thickness in the entry way to match the and surface. End this subfloor increase at the vinyl and carpet match line. Provide a threshold at the entryway to accommodate the change in levels.

2010 ADA Standards for threshold are described in Section 303 and 404.2.5 as shown below. If Section 404.2.5 cannot be met at the entryway, then Additive Alternate 2 will apply.

303.2 Vertical. Changes in level of 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) high maximum shall be permitted to be vertical.

Figure 303.2 Vertical Change in Level

303.3 Beveled. Changes in level between 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) high minimum and 1/2 inch (13 mm) high maximum shall be beveled with a slope not steeper than 1:2.

Advisory 303.3 Beveled. A change in level of 1/2 inch (13 mm) is permitted to be 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) vertical plus 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) beveled. However, in no case may the combined change in level exceed 1/2 inch (13 mm). Changes in level exceeding 1/2 inch (13 mm) must comply with 405 (Ramps) or 406 (Curb Ramps). Page 2 of 4

404.2.5 Thresholds. Thresholds, if provided at doorways, shall be 1/2 inch (13 mm) high maximum. Raised thresholds and changes in level at doorways shall comply with 302 and 303.

Additive Alternate 2 will require decreasing the thickness of the bathroom subfloor to match the entryway’s subfloor. In this scenario, the existing kitchen subfloor will remain and a threshold will be required at the kitchen entryway.

Increase carpet pad thickness to provide a flush and level surface between the vinyl and carpet. If Additive Alternate 2 is awarded, verify that original carpet pad and carpet thicknesses will provide an even transition.

Existing backsplash to remain. Remove and replace if necessary.

Repaint the living . The provided ceiling paint (item 20.a.) will not be sufficient to finish the rest of the ceiling in the apartment. Contractor will have to acquire additional ceiling paint.

Painting the kitchen cabinets has been added as an additive alternate to the bid schedule. Please see the paint specification for this submittal. Intended color to match the bathroom vanity color. Color and sheen submittal required.

Apartments 1 & 2 Provide a 21” x 7’ storage to fit in the of the kitchen. Provide a submittal for this item. The finish shall closely match existing cabinetry. Blend the surround to match existing as best as possible. This is included in the new bid schedule as item 4.

Apartment 9 Provide cabinetry to cover existing opening where oven was removed. Provide a submittal for this item. The finish shall closely match existing cabinetry. This shall be included in the bid schedule within items 1 & 2.

Replace the original bid schedule with the new bid schedule on the next page.
