Built in 1920, Klinger Lake Country Club has a rich history. The began as a nine-hole layout and the back nine was added ten years later. Golf legend Chick Evans established the first course record (73) in 1921. During the 1940’s, touring professionals Ben Hogan, Jimmy Demaret and Byron Nelson all played here. The current course record (63) is held by former KLCC Golf Professional Norm Collins.

STATISTICS

A typical course, public or private, will play 22,000 to 40,000 rounds a year. Klinger Lake Country Club’s course only plays about 8,000 rounds per year, which is very low for an 18-hole facility. Therefore, it is very easy to get on the course. Tee times are accepted up to one week in advance, but reservations are rarely necessary. The PGA Professional and his staff conduct an extensive tournament schedule for club members, with over 30 events to participate in per year.
