Ein nod, felly, drwy’r broses adolygu siarter, yw i ddyfnhau a chryfhau’r berthynas hon er budd gwylwyr yng Nghymru. Mae’r BBC, ar hyd y blynyddoedd, wedi bod wrth galon yr hyn mae S4C wedi gallu ei gyflawni. Boed mewn perthynas â newyddion a materion cyfoes neu chwaraeon, neu ddrama, rydym eisiau adeiladu perthynas fwy pwerus fyth ar gyfer y dyfodol. Fe gyflwynwyd ein casgliadau i gyd, ynghyd â thystiolaeth a gynhyrchwyd ar ba mor effeithiol yw S4C wrth weithredu ei busnes, i adolygiad yr Adran Ddiwylliant, Cyfryngau a Chwaraeon a gynhaliwyd gan Roger Laughton. Mae adolygiad allanol gan ffigwr mor flaenllaw o fewn y diwydiant yn cynnig y cyfle o gymeradwyaeth annibynnol o’r blaenoriaethau strategol a nodwyd gan yr Awdurdod. Rydym hefyd yn disgwyl i’r adolygiad ddylanwadu ar ein cyfraniad i adolygiad Siarter Frenhinol y BBC. Bydd hefyd yn gallu cyfrannu at y rhan honno o adolygiad darlledu cyhoeddus Ofcom sy’n ymdrin â darlledu trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg. 2 CHAIR’S INTRODUCTION The main item of business for the S4C Authority during 2003 The evidence presented in this report shows a faster decline was overseeing the process of internal review which we than we anticipated in the number of viewers watching announced in July. We need to take account of the changes that have followed the The Authority’s review reaffirmed our commitment towards introduction of Ofcom. We will also want to consider the harnessing the opportunity provided by analogue switch-off to conclusions of Roger Laughton’s review. Our central challenge develop a comprehensive Welsh language service on S4C will, however, remain that of ensuring that S4C can continue digidol. Whether through the quality of our programmes or to make the wide-ranging contribution to Welsh public life in because we provide subtitles we want our programmes to the non-linear digital age that it has to date in the far more appeal to as wide as possible an audience in Wales and familiar television environment to which we have all become increasingly in the rest of the UK. S4C must be a service for accustomed. all those who speak Welsh – or who have an interest in the language - whatever their degree of fluency. We must remain It is with enormous regret that we mark the death over recent very much alive to the changes indicated in the latest Census weeks of Janice Rowlands, who was a member of the results and S4C must continue to provide a ready means of Authority between 1996 and 2001. Janice was a passionate access to those, young and old, who want to learn the supporter of the Welsh language and of the interests of our language. However, our remit should not be confused with viewers, and an unstinting source of advice and support those who are charged with commissioning English language during her period on the Authority. Wales has also lost one of content specifically directed at viewers in Wales.

Music artist and CCM pioneer Erick Nelson defined The Archers' role in the development of contemporary Christian music as representing one- half of a convergence: traditional vocal groups like The Archers got hipper while the hippie rock groups like the Maranatha bands got more mellow —eventually both evinced the polished, commercial sound that would be identified as stereotypical contemporary Christian music. An elite archer does not grip her bow tightly, fearing what anxious jitters might do; she attaches it to a string that wraps around her hand, extends her arm forward, and holds the bow in place with the skin between her thumb and index finger.

Developing a study design that incorporates an analysis of code-switching and mutation in naturalistic speech has demanded a relatively novel methodological approach. The study combined a variationist analysis of the vernacular use of both variables in the 40-hour Siarad corpus (Deuchar 2014) with a technique that ranks radio programmes in order of formality through the use of channel cues and other criteria (Ball et al 1988).
