Introduction The Connecticut Primary Wood Processor Directory contains a listing of sawmills located in Connecticut. Sawmills that conduct business in Connecticut but are located in another state are not included in this list. The Directory was produced from data collected by the Division of Forestry staff from the sawmills and will periodically updated. Sawmills were asked to submit information pertinent about their business in order to be listed in the directory. Sawmills that did not respond to this request are not included in this directory. Inclusion of a sawmill in the Directory is not to be interpreted as a recommendation. Similarly, an omission of a sawmill from the directory should not reflect negatively on that company’s operation. Sawmills are encouraged to contact the Utilization and Marketing Program Leader, Division of Forestry, 79 Elm Street, Hartford, CT 06106 to report any inaccuracies or to be added to the listing.

This Directory is intended to be a vehicle for secondary wood products manufacturing firms, wood reprocessing firms and other wood users to connect with Connecticut’s primary wood processors. The Connecticut Primary Processor Directory is not designed for use by landowners seeking to sell timber or locate forest management services. State law provides that the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection must certify any person who purchases timber in excess of 25,000 board feet, 50 cords or 150 tons or that provides forest management services. A complete listing of certified forest practitioners is located at the Division of Forestry’s website. Landowners that are interested in selling timber or finding forest management services are urged to consult the Directory of Forest practitioners for a complete listing of certified practitioners and an explanation of the different levels of certification.
