We are proud to introduce a modern range of firewood processors. Since we started manufacturing our first firewood processors back in 2004 we have actively been improving and developing new models. We are thankful for feedback from our customers. We continuously introduce improvements in order to offer better product at any time.

Originals ideas (a story full of innovations is our background). Since we in the early sixties started manufacturing safety frames for tractors we took unorthodox steps and made a more cost efficient and user friendly design than our competitors at that time. Even at that time we applied new technology and new materials. This means hydraulic shaped high tensile steel materials in order to meet approval specifications and tests. The leading principle for all our products is to offer improved features and have cost effective production.

Active use of new material qualities. There is a continuos development in steel materials and qualities. New qualities (so called high tensile steels from 500) have a much higher resistance to damage like breakage and bends compared to traditional quality. Such materials are especially suitable for firewood processors being strength-tested all the time. We do all the time actively apply such materials in order to get the very best resistance to damages. This also our motivation for investing in new production technologies and machines which can handle such steel qualities.

A very skilled manufacturer. We have long time experience with manufacture and deliveries of complex items and components to other industry. This means high requirements to finish, welding quality and surface treatment in addition to being competitive. Our company has met this demands and completed various investment in order to stay competitive. Our last investment is one of Europe’s most modern FMS robotised welding plants. This is background for being able to offer improved products continuously.

Construction technology Our engineers operates a so-called 3D construction system enabling them to transfers constructions data to our processing machines. We also apply this system for off line weld programming and strength calculations in order to assure long lifetime and safe functions.

Made in Norway All our machines and implements are manufactured at our plant here in Åsen in the middle of Norway (25km north of Trondheim airport). We manufacture all our key components in order to control quality and have access to the best design any time.

Quality is least expensive in the end. The development in firewood processors and the intensity in use requires great durability and reliability. Machines that are to satisfy these requirements must have corresponding dimensioning and choice of materials. Duun Firewood Processor 2 The best steel and the best surface treatment

This picture illustrates. Yellow part made from mild steel and red part made from high tensile steel in same thickness, which we apply for our machines. Bending the ends together.

When relieving pressure the difference appears! The yellow part has been deformed and the red part back to original shape. High tensile steel (red) can bend and “go back” to a much higher degree than mild steel. That is our motivation for applying this quality in a firewood processors which all the day live a “hard” life.

The best surface treatment Most of our products are shot blasted, phosphate treated and powder painted. This is a very durable coating.

Servo-assisted cutting movement and hydraulic knife lift as standard. Kjølesystem 3 hydraulic pumps provides great capacity and chain speed of 28 second meters. Capacity of up to 42 cm diameter and up to 11 tons splitting force, automatic pressure adjustment. Adjustable saw sword movement and cutting force for adaptation to the material at hand. Very fast cycle; 2.05 seconds for 40 cm tour retour. Cooling system with transport of sawdust makes for low, stable temperature of the hydraulic system and possibility for further transport of sawdust. Robust and easy to operate Very sturdy feeding table that withstands greater loads. Manufactured from high-tensile steel complete with two supporting legs on each side. Flexible fastening for in-feeding rollers so that the location and number may be adapted according to the requirements. Thermometer and oil level control is placed directly on the hydraulic tank in aluminium. Cooling air is taken in though the grid. The output conveyor’s speed is adjustable. Hydraulic lifting and lowering of the splitting knife is standard.

Optimal operation All functions in one grip. Cutting splitting and feed belt forward and backward are operated by the big handle. Hydraulic adjustment of the splitting knife by the handle to the right. Very durable marking.

Splitting knives and robust fastening The splitting knives have a sturdy back support and hydraulic adjustment of height as standard. In order to simplify the replacement of the knives, the knives are brought to the top position before they are released and replaced. Extra knife bracket No 141209272 can be attached to the chassis for placing extra splitting knife. In addition to 6 part splitting knife which is standard 4 – 6 and 10 part splitting knives are delivered. The 10 part splitting knife (in the middle) requires 11 tons splitting force and “uncomplicated” material to be split. In addition to 6 part splitting knives, which is standard, even 4-part and 8 part knives are supplied as accessories. Remote feed belt run This handle at the end on the feed belt makes the feed belt run. Duun Firewood Processor 19 Automated manufacturing in Norway Our products are manufactured at our factory at Åsen in Trøndelag Norway by automated processes, for sheet metal work, machining, welding and surface treatment. Principally we apply our own manufactured key components in order to secure the best possible operation and quality of our products. We also offer jobs for young people by systematically educating apprentices. Automated welding 24/7. Last year we finished installation of our new FMS welding plant with fully automated internal transportation of objects both for storing and welding. This ensures perfect welding quality and a much more cost effective process.
