SINGAPORE NATIONAL GAMES 2014 EVENT FACT SHEET

1. About the National Games

The Singapore National Games (SNG) is a biennial, multi- competition which provides a platform for aspiring athletes to compete up to the National level of each sport as well as create pathways to nurture our school athletes.

Organised by Sport Singapore (SportSG) in collaboration with the various National Associations of the participating sports, the SNG was inaugurated in 2012. Singaporeans, Permanent Residents and foreigners who are residents are eligible to compete in the SNG. This second edition of the SNG will include 12 sports: Athletics, , , , Dragon Boat, , Hockey5, , Sepak Takraw, Swimming, Table Tennis and .

2. More about SNG

2.1 Date: 1 – 9 November 2014

2.2 Entry Format: Free selection to represent any of the five (5) zones: North, East, West, Central and North-East

2.3 Categories and Eligibility:

- Juniors, Open & Masters (Men’s and Women’s) - Division ‘A’ & ‘B’ based on skill level where necessary - Carded Athletes to play in ‘A’ division - Open to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and Foreigners (minimum of two- year residency in Singapore) with valid passes (Work permit, Employment pass, Student pass or Dependant pass) - For team sports, each team must comprise of at least 80% Singapore citizens - Singaporeans are eligible to register for up to three individual events - Permanent Residents and foreigners are eligible to register for up to two individual events

2.4 Registration Period:

1 September to 12 October 2014 Online at www.singaporenationalgames.sg or in person at any ActiveSG Sports Centre

2.5 Fees:

Individual Sports: $10.00 per person for up to three events per sport Team Sports: $10.00 per person x minimum number per team
