The entanglements in the international sport are various and very IN complicated. First of all, every sport tries to be Olympic. Other sports are kept from partici- pating the Olympic Games. Those non-Olympic sports federations founded 1967 the GAISF ( General Association of International Sports Federation ). That is how it succeeded to install the World Games as an alternative to the Olympic Games. All international sports organizations had world championships through. Nevertheless, the Olympia win stays the aim of almost all sportsmen and sportswomen (expect may be football [ Soccer] ). In this book only the international sports federations are presented which are members of the IOC or GAISF. Not recognized associations or profit organizations could not be taken into consideration. In some of those the situation is partly difficult to survey: Among the professional boxing 4 federations are competing- WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF. Among tennis exist separate organizations for men (ATP) and women (WTF). Or among Lacrosse there are one international federation for men and two for women. American football there is no international association yet. Some sports might be unknown to the reader. The explanation of the rules was let out on purpose. If required appropriate technical literature should be consulted. To the sources All sports federations that are presented in this book were written to directly. Many sports organiza- tions answered willingly and detailed. Often inquire were needed. Of some associations only a verbal description of the flag exist. In those cases the flag was reconstructed (marked with rec.) and slight

Gay Games A promotional piece for by Jim Buzinski the first Gay Games, then called the Gay Olympic Games, in 1982. Encyclopedia Copyright © 2015, glbtq, Inc. Courtesy Federation of Entry Copyright © 2002, glbtq, Inc. Gay Games. Reprinted from http://www.glbtq.com The Gay Games is a quadrennial sporting and cultural event designed for the gay and lesbian community. The brainchild of former Olympic decathlete Tom Waddell, the Games were first held in San Francisco in 1982. Some 1,300 athletes participated in the first competition. Since then, the event has become a lucrative attraction that cities bid for the privilege of hosting. The Games pump millions of dollars into the host city's local economy. Waddell had originally intended to call the competition the Gay Olympics, but nineteen days before the start of the first games the United States Olympic Committee obtained a restraining order, forbidding the use of that name. The USOC asserted that it had sole rights to use the name Olympics. Waddell, noting that the USOC had raised no objections to other competitions using the name, told Sports Illustrated: "The bottom line is that if I'm a rat, a crab, a copying machine or an Armenian I can have my own Olympics. If I'm gay, I can't.'' Waddell, who died from complications of AIDS in 1987, conceived the Games as a means of promoting the spirit of inclusion and healthy competition in athletics. As his biographer Dick Schaap explains, "Tom wanted to emphasize that gay men were men, not that they were gay, and that lesbian women were women, not that they were lesbians.

However previously conducted research on floorball from its managerial point of view is rare, especially on an international scale. The present investigation makes an attempt to fill this gap in a holistic manner. It explores the research problem of finding the potentials of floorball as a sustainably successful sport – worldwide and in the case country, Bulgaria. For this purpose the study utilizes the tasks of collecting and systematizing existing relevant data, binding floorball to theoretical frameworks of contemporary science and observing its development level and current issues globally and locally. The research uses a qualitative, ethnographic approach to obtain its goals, and includes participant observation, unstructured and semi-structured interviews. Data is analysed through a combination of qualitative analysis tools – thematic analysis, discourse analysis, content analysis, visual data analysis, etc. The primary data has been gathered in Finland, as well as in Bulgaria and consists of observation of key events and interaction with key informants.

A MIND SPORTS CENTRE FOR BENDIGO Discussion document Contents: A. Mind Sports definitions B. Mind Sports Centre features C. Mind Sports Centre activities D. Alignment with City Planning Community Plan 2017-2021 All Ages All Abilities Plan Health & Wellbeing Plan E. Potential locations F. Extent of interest G. Next steps A. What are Mind Sports? Bridge, chess, draughts (checkers), go (weiqi) and xiangqi (Chinese chess) are recognised as sports by the International Olympic Committee, with mahjong and poker close behind. And then there are events such as the Mind Sports Olympiad held annually in the UK (https://msoworld.com/about/), which features over 60 games, including puzzles such as Sudoku and computer games such as Tetris. Wargaming with miniatures or online, and the whole range of multiplayer online or video games, may also be included. The breadth of scope of a Bendigo Mind Sports Centre could be anywhere along this spectrum. B. What would a Mind Sports Centre look like? At the most modest level, an ordinary (fairly large) hall or factory building could be refurbished to suit. At the most ambitious level, something like the Bendigo Stadium would allow the City to stage world-level competitions in the various disciplines. Features of such a Centre: Plenty of accessible parking, and accessible by public transport Wheelchair access and disabled toilets Multiple playing rooms for the different disciplines Good soundproofing, lighting, heating Catering facilities incorporated, so people can gather before or after events to socialise over a meal or a drink Secure storage for user groups (some groups have significant storage needs) Technology support would be a major component, especially if video games are included, or if the City decided to commit to developing a venue of international calibre for any of the disciplines.

Unlike other sports such as soccer, boxing, and rugby, it is observed that none of the studies in the literature have examined the injuries resulting from the impact of the sepak takraw ball on the players’ heads during a game. This study was initiated following the incidents of the 24th SEA Games in Korat, Thailand, in year 2007, whereby a number of players from the Malaysian Sepak Takraw Association (PSM) had to withdraw themselves from the championship. These players suffered from headaches which were believed to be caused by the impact of the sepak takraw ball, considering the fact that heading is one of the basic movements used to hit the ball.

The team has won more than 20 local tournaments and also competes in CLEAR’s National Futsal League 2017 and 2018. A little information about the team first. ‘Ov Mal’ is a Khmer word meaning ‘Wasp’. So, the team name is literally Wasp Football Team. The head coach, who’s also the founder of the team, has many capabilities, one of which is to develop offensive players. Therefore, the team is well-known for having great attacking players and really good at ‘Stinging’ (referring to scoring goals) the opposing team.
