Unlike other sports such as soccer, boxing, and rugby, it is observed that none of the studies in the literature have examined the injuries resulting from the impact of the sepak takraw ball on the players’ heads during a game. This study was initiated following the incidents of the 24th SEA Games in Korat, Thailand, in year 2007, whereby a number of players from the Malaysian Sepak Takraw Association (PSM) had to withdraw themselves from the championship. These players suffered from headaches which were believed to be caused by the impact of the sepak takraw ball, considering the fact that heading is one of the basic movements used to hit the ball.

PULSE April 2019 THE OBERAI SCHOOL OF INTEGRATED STUDIES PULSE – April 2019 (Issue 10) Visit to the Regional Science Centre On the 9th of April, 2019, the students of class IX went for a field trip to the Regional Science Center, Dehradun. The experience was thought provoking. The students first visited Taramandal, where they learned about constellations, their shapes and placement in the sky. After that they saw a 3D science show on Global Warming and how humans are destroying our natural resource by poisoning the oceans and destroying the rainforests. At the same time, they were also explained about the process of creating 3D images in the eyes and the way depth is perceived by our brain. They saw some of the world's cutting edge technologies in the Tech Exhibition. At the end they learned about our very own Himalayas in the Himalayan Exhibition. Overall it provided an opportunity to look beyond new technologies and to explore them in a broader context. It was a fun filled learning experience. Arav Chaturvedi Panchhi Class IX A Venture to Viraatkhai On 16th April, 2019, Classes IV & V went to Viraatkhai. We left school at 08:30 am and reached Viraatkhai at 1pm. • Kho-Kho and Combative Sports Like Judo and Wrestling
TEAM GAMES AND PORTS 7 S II In the previous chapter, we have discussed team games like Football, Hockey, Basketball, Cricket and Volleyball. This chapter includes Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Combative sports like Judo and Wrestling. KABADDI Kabaddi is an indigenous game which is popular in India. It is a simple and inexpensive game and does not require a big playing area or any equipment. This game is popular in the villages and small towns in India. It is played throughout Asia with minor modifications. Kabaddi is quite new to the other parts of the world. It was known by various names in different parts of India. For example, Chedugudu or Gudu- gudu in Southern parts of India, Ha-du-du (Men), Chu-kit- kit (Women) in Eastern India, Hu-tu-tu in Maharashtra in western India and Kabaddi in Northern India. It is a game of attack and defense. The two teams occupy opposite halves of a field and take turn in sending a ‘Raider’ into the other half. In order to win points, members of the opposite team are tagged and the raider tries to return to half, holding the breath and chanting, “Kabaddi, Kabaddi, Kabaddi”. There is also another school of thought, in India, which believes that this game is a version of Chakravyuha, Do You Know? used in Mahabharata.
