Unlike other sports such as soccer, boxing, and rugby, it is observed that none of the studies in the literature have examined the injuries resulting from the impact of the sepak takraw ball on the players’ heads during a game. This study was initiated following the incidents of the 24th SEA Games in Korat, Thailand, in year 2007, whereby a number of players from the Malaysian Sepak Takraw Association (PSM) had to withdraw themselves from the championship. These players suffered from headaches which were believed to be caused by the impact of the sepak takraw ball, considering the fact that heading is one of the basic movements used to hit the ball.

Founded back in 2012, just 7 years ago, Ov Mal FC quickly becomes a dominating Futsal team in the country. The team has won more than 20 local tournaments and also competes in CLEAR’s National Futsal League 2017 and 2018. A little information about the team first. ‘Ov Mal’ is a Khmer word meaning ‘Wasp’. So, the team name is literally Wasp Football Team. The head coach, who’s also the founder of the team, has many capabilities, one of which is to develop offensive players. Therefore, the team is well-known for having great attacking players and really good at ‘Stinging’ (referring to scoring goals) the opposing team.

Thirty-eight players of sepak takraw with the mean age 16.21 (0.93) years old participated in this study. A total 12 anthropometric measurements and sepak takraw performance ability were examined. The PCA revealed nine anthropometric parameters as most significant in sepak takraw. The significant parameters were then classified into two group of expertise labeled as high (HPT) and low performance team (LPT) using HACA. DA standard mode exposed hip circumference and performance ability are the best parameter to differentiate between the two groups, whereas both stepwise forward and backward exposed performance ability is significant parameter. The present study identified hip circumference and performance ability as foretelling factors of performance in sepak takraw. DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION GAMES AND SPORTS REPORT & ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE YEAR 2019-2020 Games and Sports activities for the academic year 2019-20 started in the month of July and the sports calendar was prepared and displayed on the notice board. Coaching Camps for various sports and games were conducted for a period of three to four weeks at different grounds such as Osmania University, Government College of Physical Education, Domalguda, Victory Play Ground, Chaderghat, Nizam College, Saroornagar Stadium etc., More than 20 students from our college represented in the National, All India Universities & State Level Tournaments for the year 2019-20. Teams from our college have participated in the Inter-Collegiate Tournaments of Osmania University, as well as Club Tournaments, Reliance Football, Eenadu, Redbull Cricket Tournament and also in other Association Tournaments. On the whole, boys participated in 17 events & girls participated in 6 events. Shwetha Kshirsagar, alumnus of B.ComHons.3B 2015-18 batch & Captain of the Indian Team, secured 5th Place in the World Roller Games at Barcelona 2019 held from 4th - 14th July, while Aditya Vikram Kulkarni of MECS 2009-12 batch was selected to represent India in Senior Men’s team. KARATE: RAJESH BABU of MSCS 3C secured BLACK BELT in the International Shaolin Kung-Fu at Sangareddy Dist. on 7th July 2019. ➢ G. Preethi of B. Coaching Preferences 1 COACHING PREFERENCES OF ATHLETES IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM AND GREAT BRITAIN: A CROSS-CULTURAL TEST OF THE PATH-GOAL THEORY Sufri Bolkiah1, and Peter C. Terry2 1National Olympic Committee, Brunei Darussalam 2University of Southern Queensland, Australia Key words: Leadership, Coaching, LSS Introduction Path-goal theory (House, 1971, 1996; House & Mitchell, 1997) postulates that effective leader behaviour is influenced by the characteristics of individual group members and the characteristics of the task to be accomplished, in particular its variability and the degree of interdependence between group members. In the context of sport coaching, Path-goal theory suggests that participants in highly variable, interdependent sports such as soccer or basketball would prefer a more structured, autocratic leadership style than participants in more environmentally predictable, independent sports such as shooting or diving. Previous tests of Path-goal theory in a sport setting have provided partial support for the applicability of the theory to the coaching process (Capitao, 1995; Terry & Howe, 1984). For example, Terry and Howe showed that athletes in independent sports preferred more democratic behaviour and less autocratic behaviour than athletes in interdependent sports. The first published investigation of cross-cultural variations in coaching preferences (Terry, 1984) found no difference in preferred coaching behaviour between athletes from Great Britain, Canada and the United States. However, subsequent studies that have compared more disparate cultural settings (i.e., Japan and Canada) have shown significant cross-cultural variability (Chelladurai et al., 1987, 1988). Brunei Darussalam lies close to the equator on the northern part of Borneo and exists as a Malay Islamic state.
