GAMES AND SPORTS
REPORT & ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE YEAR 2019-2020
Games and Sports activities for the academic year 2019-20 started in the month of July and the sports calendar was prepared and displayed on the notice board. Coaching Camps for various sports and games were conducted for a period of three to four weeks at different grounds such as Osmania
University, Government College of Physical Education, Domalguda, Victory Play Ground,
Chaderghat, Nizam College, Saroornagar Stadium etc., More than 20 students from our college represented in the National, All India Universities & State Level Tournaments for the year 2019-20.
Teams from our college have participated in the Inter-Collegiate Tournaments of Osmania
University, as well as Club Tournaments, Reliance Football, Eenadu, Redbull Cricket Tournament and also in other Association Tournaments. On the whole, boys participated in 17 events & girls participated in 6 events.
Shwetha Kshirsagar, alumnus of B.ComHons.3B 2015-18 batch & Captain of the Indian
Team, secured 5th Place in the World Roller Games at Barcelona 2019 held from 4th -
14th July, while Aditya Vikram Kulkarni of MECS 2009-12 batch was selected to represent India in Senior Men’s team.
KARATE:
RAJESH BABU of MSCS 3C secured BLACK BELT in the International Shaolin Kung-Fu
at Sangareddy Dist. on 7th July 2019.
➢ G. Preethi of B. Com Hons. 1 B secured Gold & Silver Medals in the( JKA India) All India
KYU Level Karate Championship in KATA & KUMITE events respectively, on 27th & 28th July
2019, at Mumbai.
She also secured Bronze Medal in the 34th National Shutokan Karate Tournament
Under-18 years category held on 24th & 25th August 2019 at GHMC Indoor Stadium,
Chadergat, Hyderabad.
➢ Pavan Kalyan M of B.Com Gen. 1 C secued Silver Medal in the World Bodhidharumar
Martial Arts Federation, at Mumbai, on 27th December 2019.
He also secured Silver Medal in the Open National Tiger Cup Tournament at Andheri,
Mumbai on 2nd February 2020.
WUSHU ( MARTIAL ARTS):
B. Sandeep of MPCs 3 A secured Gold Medal in the Osmania Univesity Inter College
Wushu Championship at LB Stadium on 2nd January 2020.
SEPAK TAKRAW:
➢ Poonam Vyas of B. Com 2 B Hons. Secured Bronze Medal in the 6th Junior Inter District
Sepak Takraw Championship held on 10th & 11th August 2019 at GHMC Indoor Stadium,
Chadergat, Hyderabad.
CRICKET:
➢ Vaishnav Reddy of B. Com 2 D was selected to represent Hyderabad Cricket Association in
Under-19 Vinoo Mankad (One Day) & Cooch Behar (Four Day) Tournament and was also
nominated as Vice Captain of the team for the year 2019-2020. Saqlain Arafat of BBA 2 B
was selected to represent Hyderabad Cricket Association in the Under-19 Cooch Behar (
Four Day) Tournament for the year 2019- 2020.
➢ Koushik Reddy of B. Com 2 E and C. Durgesh of B.Com 3 A were selected to represent
Osmania University Cricket Team in the South Zone Inter University Tournament held at
Mysore from 25th November 2019.
WRESTLING:
➢ C. Akash of B.Com 2 A Secured Silver Medal in Freestyle 86 KGs. Category & Ankit
Yadav of B.Com 3B Secured Bronze Medal in Greco Roman 65 Kgs. Category in the
Osmania University Inter College Wrestling Championship held at LB Stadium on 23rd
August 2019.
POWER LIFTING:
➢ Sagar Kaweti of B.Com 3 C secured Gold Medal in the 6th Telangana Senior Inter
District Power Lifting Championship held at Ranga Reddy Dist. on 20th July 2019.
➢ He also secured Silver Medal in the South India powerlifting championship at LB Stadium
held from 2nd to 5th January 2020.
PISTOL SHOOTING:
➢ Karnika V of B. Com 1secured Silver Medal in the 29th All India GV Mavalankar Shooting
Championship on 13th September 2019 at Ahmedabad and also represented 11th South Zone
Shooting Championship on 23rd August 2019 at Kerala.
TUG OF WAR:
➢ Vikram of B.Com Computer Application 1 A was selected to represent Telangana
State Sub Junior National Championship at Nasik on 6th September 2019 and the Telangana State
Team secured First place.
JUDO:
➢ Md. Arafat of BBA 2 B secured Bronze Medal in the Osmania University Judo Championship
(60 Kgs. Category) held on 22nd October 2019.
INLINE HOCKEY:
➢ Ritika Pandey of B.Com Gen. 1 B was selected as Captain for Telangana State National
Inline Hockey Championship at Vizag on 18th December 2019 and secured 4th place for the
team.
She also represented Indian Inline Hockey Team at the World Roller Games, 2017 at
Nanjing China and secured 5th place.
BOXING:
➢ NITYA of BCom Comp. Appl. 1 A secured Silver Medal in the BDFI, Boxing
Championship at Sonipat, and Haryana on 16th December 2019.
➢ Pavan Jadav of BCom 2 E & G Varun Shashank of BCom Comp. Appl.1A secured Bronze
Medals in the OU Inter College Boxing Championship at LB stadium, on 21st December
2019.
FOOTBALL:
➢ Emmadi Chetan of B. Com 2 D was selected and represented Telangana State in the Under-
17 Football Tournament and TS Team won the Tournament 2019.
➢ Pradhumn Singh of B.Com 2 B Hons. represented Telangana Football team in the ICSE
National Football Tournaments at Jaipur & Telangana Team secured Gold Medal on
31st January 2020.
HANDBALL:
➢ Nithisha of B. Com Hons. 1 A was selected to represent Telangana State in the 42nd Junior
National Girls National Championship held from 4th to 8th February 2020 at Ghaziabad, UP.
