A. EXCELLENT B. GOOD C. FAIR A Holistic Education – CCA CCA Policies

 CCA participation in school is compulsory for all students in secondary school.

 Students must have a Main CCA each year from one of the 4 Groups- The attendance rate for participation will be based on the attendance of the main CCA.

 Students are expected to attain at least a 75% Attendance rate.

 The CCA attendance will also affect the Conduct Grade of each student for every semester.

 Absence from CCA is regarded seriously and students must produce Medical Certificate for any absence from CCA sessions. Letter from parents are accepted on a case by case basis but the absence will be counted against the students attendance rate. (Eg: If a student is expected to attend 10 sessions but is absent for 5 sessions with letter from parents/guardian she is considered to have a 50% attendance rate).

 Any request for a change of CCA will be assessed on a case by case basis by the school management. Any request for a change can only be made at the beginning of each academic year through the HOD PE & CCA. Your Role... Support your child to achieve his/her potential:

Identifying interests and strengths Example: What is your child interested in? What is your child good at?

Setting objectives Example: What kind of person do you want your child want to be (be able to contribute to society, be able to work in teams)? What kind of values and life skills should your child be developed in? Look forward to your Partnership

John Hattie, 2004 “Teacher Impact” Your Role... Support MSS teachers to achieve your child’s potential:

Be part of the Journey Example: How I can further assist the teacher to make my child better?

Ensure strength in Character Example: Coach and teach your child to overcome issues and problems – Resilience (School Value) Benefits . Resilience in character

. Sense of accomplishment

. Opportunities for Higher Study with strong CCA record
