    Carta Archeologica Online del Friuli Venezia Giulia - www.archeocartafvg.it MOGGIO Udinese (Ud). L Antiquarium. All'interno dell'edificio eretto negli anni Ottanta che ospita la biblioteca abbaziale, trova sede il recente Antiquarium che raccoglie i numerosi reperti rinvenuti negli ultimi decenni nei dintorni dell'abbazia e sul colle di Santo Spirito. Si tratta di testimonianze di epoca romana tardo-repubblicana e di epoca tardo medievale, queste ultime legate alla vita del monastero benedettino. L'istituzione dell'Antiquarium moggese arriva alla fine di un cinquantennio di scoperte archeologiche, accompagnate da studi sul materiale e sulla realtà insediativa di epoca romana e abbaziale. La località di Moggio Udinese fu frequentata dalla fine del II secolo a.C., inizialmente da mercanti romani che cercavano di stabilire contatti economici con le popolazioni locali, i Celti Carni probabilmente, dei quali si hanno testimonianze soprattutto di monete, rinvenute nei secoli scorsi sul Colle di Santo Spirito. A partire dall'età cesariana il sito divenne sede logistica dell'amministrazione romana per la costruzione della sottostante strada che portava al Norico e al Limes danubiano. Il sito venne ad esaurirsi verso la metà del I secolo d.C., rimpiazzato dalla dogana istituita presso l'abitato di Resiutta, alcuni chilometri più a monte. Tra i pezzi archeologici più significativi qui rinvenuti ed esposti presso l'Antiquarium, si trovano alcuni frammenti di anfore per il trasporto del vino e dell'olio; ceramica a vernice nera con impronte di sigilli, pochi frammenti di ceramica sigillata aretina e orientale. BY TRAIN Reaching Venzone by public transport is very easy both by bus or train.     Bruno LUCCI Sul “Castello” di Moggio Udinese, dalle origini alla fondazione dell’Abazia di San Gallo. Mozium, nunc Abbatia, olim arx Chazzila 1: è la citazione che Bernardo Maria De Rubeis ci ha tramandato fin dal 1740 2. Numerose, troppe per essere citate nei dettagli, sono le citazioni storiche e bibliografiche che parlano di un “insediamento” situato sul colle, precedente la costruzione dell’abazia nell’XI secolo: insediamento che viene denominano talora arx (= luogo elevato, rocca, fortificazione), talora castra (= accampamento, alloggiamento militare), talora oppidum (= luogo fortificato) 3. Questi termini concordano nel definire una costruzione dalle caratteristiche di tipo militare o difensivo, non di tipo signorile o residenziale. Concorde, in tutti i documenti e in tutte le citazioni, a partire dal XII secolo, è il riferimento a Cacellino 4: figura chiave della storia di Moggio nel periodo in cui avvenne la trasformazione del sito, caratterizzato da manufatti di origini romane, a quello occupato dall’abazia.     REPORT ON THE PROTECTION OF THE FRIULIAN-SPEAKING MINORITY (Council of Europe. Fifth Italian Report on the Implementation of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities) 1. SPEAKERS ARLeF – Agenzia regionale per la lingua friulana (Regional Friulian Language Agency), with the collaboration of Udine University and coordinated by its chief scientist Claudio Melchior, presented in 2015 the full data gathered by the sociolinguistic survey on the Friulian language carried out in 2014. Among the most interesting results are the data concerning the distribution and understanding of the Friulian language in the area involved in the research: at present, 600,000 people resident in the former provinces of Gorizia, Pordenone and Udine speak Friulian. Of these, 420,000 speak it regularly, 180,000 occasionally. This amounts to over 60% of the population of the three former provinces. If the inhabitants of the former province of Trieste are added, the total number of Friulian-speakers comes to almost half of all the inhabitants of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Almost the entire population actually understands Friulian, even though they might not speak it: over 83% of the population of the former provinces of Gorizia and Pordenone understand Friulian. This percentage rises to 96% in the former province of Udine. This means that overall over 90% of the inhabitants of the three provinces in the survey claim to at least understand the Friulian language. It is worth mentioning that these figures do not take into account Friulian-speakers living in the municipalities of the eastern part of the Veneto Region (Mandamento di Portogruaro), in the rest of Italy and people from the region who now live abroad.
