Description of the project activity: The Sichuan Dechang Xinma 120 MW Hydropower project (hereafter referred to „ the project „ or „project‟) involves the construction of a run-of-river hydropower station at the main stream of the Anning River at Meizi Village, Dechang county of Sichuan Province, China, which is constructed and operated by Dechang Xinma Hydropower development Co., Ltd. The dam locates 40 km from Dechang County, The total installed capacity of the project will be 120MW and the total surface area of the reservoir at full capacity is 374,000m2 and the power density of the project is 320 W/m2. The expected annual effective operating hour is 4,086 hours and annual power generation is about 573,960MWh. The expected annual power supply is 544,000 MWh. -

Country Report for the Preparation of the First Report on the State of the World’s Animal Genetic Resources Report on Domestic Animal Genetic Resources in China June 2003 Beijing CONTENTS Executive Summary Biological diversity is the basis for the existence and development of human society and has aroused the increasing great attention of international society. In June 1992, more than 150 countries including China had jointly signed the "Pact of Biological Diversity". Domestic animal genetic resources are an important component of biological diversity, precious resources formed through long-term evolution, and also the closest and most direct part of relation with human beings. Therefore, in order to realize a sustainable, stable and high-efficient animal production, it is of great significance to meet even higher demand for animal and poultry product varieties and quality by human society, strengthen conservation, and effective, rational and sustainable utilization of animal and poultry genetic resources. The "Report on Domestic Animal Genetic Resources in China" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") was compiled in accordance with the requirements of the "World Status of Animal Genetic Resource " compiled by the FAO. The Ministry of Agriculture" (MOA) has attached great importance to the compilation of the Report, organized nearly 20 experts from administrative, technical extension, research institutes and universities to participate in the compilation team. In 1999, the first meeting of the compilation staff members had been held in the National Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Service, discussed on the compilation outline and division of labor in the Report compilation, and smoothly fulfilled the tasks to each of the compilers. -

Received April 25, 2006; accepted July 24, 2006 A comparative study of the pharmacologically active constituents of 24 rhubarb samples, which were identi- fied genetically as Rheum tanguticum, 3 intraspecies groups of R. palmatum and R. officinale, was conducted using reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods. Thirty compounds belonging to anthraquinones, anthraquinone glucosides, dianthrones, phenylbutanones, stilbenes, flavan-3-ols, procyani- dins, galloylglucoses, acylglucoses, gallic acid, and polymeric procyanidins were analyzed quantitatively. The drug samples derived from the same botanical source showed similar chromatographic profiles, and the compa- rable specific shape that appeared in the 10-directed radar graphs constructed on the basis of the results of quantitative analysis indicated the relationship between chemical constituent patterns and genetic varieties of rhubarb samples. ETHNIC MINORITIES DEVELOPMENT PLAN CENTRAL SICHUAN ROADS DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA SICHUAN PROVINCIAL COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT April 2005 THIS REPORT WAS PREPARED BY THE BORROWER AND IS NOT AN ADB DOCUMENT Endorsement of the Ethnic Minorities Development Plan The Sichuan Provincial Communications Department (SPCD), through the Central Government, has requested a loan from ADB to finance part of the Project. Accordingly, the Project must be implemented in compliance with ADB social safeguard policies. This Ethnic Minorities Development Plan (EMDP) represents a key requirement of ADB and will constitute the basis for mitigating potential adverse impacts and enhancement of their benefits from the Project. Gushan: the Formation of a Chan Lineage During the Seventeenth Century and Its Spread to Taiwan Hsuan-Li Wang Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY 2014 © 2014 Hsuan-Li Wang All rights reserved ABSTRACT Gushan: the Formation of a Chan Lineage During the Seventeenth Century and Its Spread to Taiwan Hsuan-Li Wang Taking Gushan 鼓山 Monastery in Fujian Province as a reference point, this dissertation investigates the formation of the Gushan Chan lineage in Fujian area and its later diffusion process to Taiwan. From the perspective of religion diffusion studies, this dissertation investigates the three stages of this process: 1. the displacement of Caodong 曹洞 Chan center to Fujian in the seventeenth century; 2. Chinese migration bringing Buddhism to Taiwan in the Qing dynasty (1644-1911) and 3. the expansion diffusion activities of the institutions and masters affiliated with this lineage in Taiwan during the Japanese rule (1895-1945), and the new developments of humanistic Buddhism (renjian fojiao 人間佛教) after 1949. In this spreading process of the Gushan Chan lineage, Taiwanese Buddhism has emerged as the bridge between Chinese and Japanese Buddhism because of its unique historical experiences. It is in the expansion diffusion activities of the Gushan Chan lineage in Taiwan that Taiwanese Buddhism has gradually attained autonomy during the Japanese rule, leading to post-war new developments in contemporary humanistic Buddhism.
