Big part of the site represents the same-named National Nature Re- serve. This site was included to the NATURA 2000 network due to the occurrence of several rare species, natural sceneries and biotops. Major part of site is situat ed in the north-eastern part of the Branisko Mts and minor part in the south-west- part of the Bachureň Mts. These mountains are one of the least known areas from the malacological point of view. In septemberClausilia 2009 quantitative dubia carpatica sampling sup plementedPetasina with unidentata individual carpaticacollection was carried out at several sites of the site Kamenná Baba. West Carpathian elementsPerforatella ( dibothrion Brancsik,- 1888, Vestia gulo (Poliński, 1929)) meet the elements with the centre in eastern part ofPupilla Carpathians sterrii ( Pupilla triplicata(M. von Kima kowicz, Vertigo1884), alpestris (E. Boreas, Vol. 44, pp. 638–657. 10.1111/bor.12133. ISSN 0300-9483. Knowledge of present-day communities and ecosystems resembling those reconstructed from the fossil record can help improve our understanding of historical distribution patterns and species composition of past communities. Here, we use a unique data set of 570 plots explored for vascular plant and 315 for land-snail assemblages located along a 650-km-long transect running across a steep climatic gradient in the Russian Altai Mountains and their foothills in southern Siberia. We analysed climatic and habitat requirements of modern populations for eight land-snail and 16 vascular plant species that are considered characteristic of the full-glacial environment of central Europe based on (i) fossil evidence from loess deposits (snails) or (ii) refugial patterns of their modern distribu- tions (plants). The analysis yielded consistent predictions of the full-glacial central European climate derived from both snail and plant populations. We found that the distribution of these 24 species was limited to the areas with mean annual temperature varying from À6.7 to 3.4 °C (median À2.5 °C) and with total annual precipitation vary- ing from 137 to 593 mm (median 283 mm).

The occurrence of land snail Subulina octona (Bruguière 1798) (Gastropoda: Subulinidae) is reported from the Czech Republic greenhouse for the first time. Molluscan communities of two new Bohemian greenhouses are characterized. Introduction octona with flatter-sided, less tumid whorls and with Subulina octona (Bruguière 1798) is a tropical snail, much stronger and more regular growth-ridges, giving which naturally occurs in the Caribbean (DEISLER & a finely ribbed effect. Shell is also less glossy (Fig. 1). ABBOTT 1984) and in tropical America (PILSBRY Many reputed occurrences require confirmation, as 1946, DUNDEE 1974) where it is locally common. This both these species have several times been recorded in species has been introduced worldwide in the tropics error for other species of Subulinidae (KERNEY et al. (ABBOTT 1989, DEISLER & ABBOTT 1984, DUNDEE 1983, PILSBRY 1946). 1974, PILSBRY 1946). S. octona occurs in ground litter of moist places in tropical and subtropical forests, but it also occurs in open habitats (ALVAREZ & WILLIG 1993) and, in Nothern America and Europe (Britain, Ireland, Denmark and Germany), in greenhouses and hothouses.

September 2015 in der Linzmühle im Leubengrund bei Kahla (Thüringen) DIETRICH VON KNORRE & ULRICH BÖSSNECK Abstract: From 25th to 27th September 2015 the 33rd eastern regional meeting of the German Malacological Society (DMG) took place at Linzmühle in the Leubengrund near Kahla, Thuringia, with 33 adults and ten chil- dren participating. During the excursions to the limestone area around Jena 78 species of land and freshwater molluscs were found. Records of the endangered and / or very rare species Sphyradium doliolum, Pupilla sterrii, Truncatellina costulata, Bulgarica vetusta festiva, Vitrea subrimata and Xerocrassa geyeri are especially re- markable. Keywords: meeting report, East Germany, Thuringia, limestone area around Jena, Sphyradium doliolum, Pu- pilla sterrii, Truncatellina costulata, Bulgarica vetusta festiva, Vitrea subrimata, Xerocrassa geyeri.
