FA Vase Winners: 2002, 2009, 2010, 2011 WHITLEY BAY FC BW3 Welcome to Hillheads WHITLEY BAY v WEST AUCKLAND TOWN

EBAC NORTHERN LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION Saturday 29th September 2012

Good afternoon and welcome to Hillheads Park for today’s Ebac Northern League game against West Auckland Town. I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all West Auckland players, officials and supporters and I hope they enjoy their afternoon with us. Fans of both clubs will hardly need reminding that our sides were involved in two dramatic cup ties as well as two hard fought league games last season. West Auckland came out on top on all four occasions that we met during their most successful season for many years, which of course included a trip to Wembley for the all- Northern League FA Vase Final. They have made a very good start to this season and will undoubtedly provide a tough challenge today. Unfortunately, the weather intervened in midweek forcing the postponement of our scheduled Tuesday night game against Norton & Stockton. Let’s hope this is not a sign of things to come in the months ahead. Having brought in new striker Ash Davis last week, Ian has again been busy strengthening the side with the signing this week of defenders James Novak and Bradley Brooking. We welcome them both and hope they enjoy their time here at Hillheads. Meanwhile Daryll Donnelly and Seb Anzevui have left for pastures new and everyone at Whitley Bay FC would like to thank both players for the contribution they made at Hillheads and we wish them well in the future. Following today’s game we are on our travels again next week, with a trip to Bishop Auckland on Wednesday evening followed by a return to south west Durham on Saturday when we visit Shildon, both tough games against in-form sides. Our next game at Hillheads will be on Tuesday 9th October when we take on Marske United. Paul McIlduff Chairman HOWAY THE BAY! Whitley were immediately back on the attack when play restarted and they forced a series of corners in rapid succession, which the Durham rearguard did well to defend.
