Seaham & District When Seaham and District U3A closed due to Covid 19 it was difficult for all members. During lockdown a Facebook page was opened so members could keep in touch and not feel isolated, especially those living on their own. Weekly quizzes and Zoom meengs started to engage people with some acvies, Art Appreciaon, History Group sessions, Juke Box Sessions. Members select songs/ music that has meaning for them, with music covering all genres and years. It has been a good way to hear music and musicians that some of us would not have listened to before. Some members were meeng at Herrington Park, taking their own chairs and flasks, social distancing, the people who went found these meengs very beneficial to their health. We aren’t taking any new members at this me but if you want to keep in touch then our website is Seahamand Districtu3a.org.uk As we look towards 2021, we hope that we will able to re-open and welcome back members. The U3A plays a vital part in helping people to find new friends and new interests and we are going to connue doing this as soon as we can.
