Lantania to Carry out the Renovation Work of Metrovalencia Line 1
Press release Lantania to carry out the renovation work of Metrovalencia Line 1 The contract awarded to the company in a joint venture with COMSA amounts to 18 million euros In Madrid, June 3rd, 2021 Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has awarded the contract to the UTE (Temporary Joint Venture) formed by Lantania and COMSA to complete the renovation work of Line 1 of Metrovalencia. The budget for this contract amounts to 18 million euros, including taxes, and the time period for the completion of the work is 30 months. The work will be carried out on the section between the Valencia Sud and Villanueva de Castellón stations on Line 1 of the Valencia metro. It will mainly consist of the replacement of the existing turnouts and the activation and modification of interlockings and centralised traffic control systems (CTC) due to changes in track configurations at some stations. Several branches will also have their tracks replaced, the most significant being the section between Paiporta- Torrent (3,600 m) and Espioca- Almaguer (1,880 m). In addition, the level crossings will be renovated, both for vehicles and pedestrians, which will involve refurbishing the track in the affected area. A Strail type level crossing which is made from a mixture of recycled and new rubber will also be installed. The main work that will be undertaken is the replacement of 45 turnouts, the supply and installation of 14,374 prestressed monoblock concrete sleepers and the supply and placement of 24,932 m3 of ballast. The renovation work will affect the stations of Paiporta, Picanya, Torrent, Alcasser, Picassent (San Ramón), Benifaió, Alginet, Carlet, Alcudia, Massalaves, Alberic and Villanueva de Castellón. -

Pág 477 - 509 High Speed Rail in Spain - a statement from a foreign expert Andersen, Sven Senior Consultant for High Speed Rail1 Abstract In Spain all high speed trains run over tracks in a special built high speed network. No disturbing influences have to be taken into account for daily operation process. This is a great advantage. Spain shares this advantage with the high speed rail networks in Japan, Taiwan and China. Running trains on parallel train paths and at least from case to case in 3 minutes headway to each other is a basic condition to reach a high use to capacity. But Spain is running trains with different speeds on its high speed lines. Another condition for a high cost-benefitratio is a strict regular service with at least one service per hour. RENFE however is running the AVE trains in a rather irregular timetable. Some examples will be presented to demonstrate this fact. The author gives some comparisons of travel times in Spain, Japan and China. The routing data of the AVE line Madrid - Sevilla is compared with those of the Shinkansen Shin Osaka - Hakata. Based on this comparison the author proposes an upgrading of the AVE-Line Madrid - Sevilla for 300 km/h. A strict regular service for all AVE lines can be developed on the basis of a new travel time Madrid - Sevilla with 118 min together with a 142 min nonstop travel time Barcelona - Madrid. The cost-benefit analysis shows several results, above all nearly 100% more train kilometres as well as saving of running days from EMU’s and track change constructions. -

Escape the Madrid Heat in the Mountains of Cercedilla As someone who considers themselves a 50/50 city girl and mountain lover, I was slightly curious when moving to Madrid about where the hiking enthusiast side of me would find a place in such a massive city. I find that when most people think of Spain, their minds tend to veer more towards flamenco, sangria, paella, medieval villages, and enchanting cities. To my surprise, the community of Madrid is also home to a vast range of world-class hiking trails. I was excited the other week to be escaping the city for a day in the mountains of Cercedilla, but was pleasantly surprised when I saw the immense beauty that La Sierra de Guadarrama beholds. Getting to Cercedilla Luckily, Cercedilla is only about a one-hour drive away from Madrid and can be easily reached by train, which will drop you off right in the center of the quaint mountain town. I took a car to Cercedilla and after driving through this charming destination for a bit, found my way to the environmental office. Stepping out of the car and getting a whiff of the crisp mountain air and pine trees was the perfect welcome into the gorgeous La Sierra de Guadarrama that surrounds Madrid. If you go up to the window at the environmental office, you will meet a guide who will provide you with plenty of information and maps on the hikes that the area boasts. Choosing Your Hike The guide at the environmental office explained the map that contains many different color-coded trails, informing us of how long each would take, what the difficulty level was, etc. -

In the selected localities, there are two morphological ways of constructing this type of sentence: using the morphological marker al before the verb (or between the verb and the auxiliary) or not using it. First, we identify the phonological patterns that exist in these localities. Then, we analyse intergenerational variation, according to the five different phonological patterns found. Finally, we study the geo-prosodic variation which exists between older and younger people from these localities. Keywords: linguistic corpus, Basque language, prosody, socio-prosodic variation, geo-prosodic variation.
