Er steht zusammen mit dem Begriff der Nachhaltigkeit im Zentrum der nationalen und internationalen Umweltpolitik. Diese Karriere des Biodiversitätsbegriffs steht in engem Zusammenhang mit dem Übereinkommen über die Biologische Vielfalt (Convention on Biological Diversity, CBD), das 1992 in Rio de Janeiro im Rah- men der UN-Konferenz über Umwelt und Entwicklung (UNCED) verabschiedet wurde. Bei den politi- schen Verhandlungen im Umfeld der Konvention hat sich gezeigt, dass der Begriff geeignet ist, Interes- sen und Belange unterschiedlicher Gruppen zu integrieren:

It is the southernmost edge of the Strážovské vrchy Mountains (Mts) (48°55ʹ46ʹʹN; 18°26ʹ05ʹʹE), separated from the central massif by the river ow Nitrica. is area is considerably inuenced by human activity: In the past, it had massive deforestation and agricultural use (mainly as pasture), recently, it is dominated by mining activities (several quarries). e whole area is out of the territo- rial protection, with the exception of the little Nature reserve Veľký vrch, surrounded by two quarries, and the le one is more or less abandoned. In the past, this area was used mainly for grazing, but this is currently very limited. Our research site is an aban- doned pasture; therefore, ecological succession is carried out intensively here. Forgot- ten aer-utility areas (abandoned quarries, pastures, industrial sites) are usually con- sidered to be ‘sterile’ and unattractive for zoological research, but this may not always correspond to reality. Even in our research site, we have carried out several rare and surprising ndings. We would like to present the results of our research in this paper. It is sad, but a large amount of abandoned pastures is scattered throughout Slova- kia.

Nat. Croat. Vol. 27, No. 2, 407- 420*, 2018, Zagreb. In this paper, the plant lists of glasshouse succulents grown in the Botanical Garden from 1895 to 2017 are studied. Synonymy, nomenclature and origin of plant material were sorted. The lists of species grown in the last 122 years are constructed in such a way as to show that throughout that period at least 1423 taxa of succulent plants from 254 genera and 17 families inhabited the Garden’s cold glass- house collection. Uređena je sinonimka i no- menklatura te istraženo podrijetlo biljnog materijala. Rezultati pokazuju kako je tijekom 122 godine kroz zbirku mesnatica hladnog staklenika prošlo najmanje 1423 svojti iz 254 rodova i 17 porodica.

Correspondencia: [email protected] Resumen. Se presenta una lista de las especies actuales y fósiles de arañas (Araneae) registradas para Chiapas. Hasta el momento se registran 464 especies actuales, distribuidas en 281 géneros y 56 familias. Las familias con mayor diversidad son Salticidae, Theridiidae, Araneidae, Tetragnathidae y Gnaphosidae. Se proporcionan los géneros y especies en sinonimia, así como los géneros y especies que han sido transferidos a otras familias, y las especies transferidas a otros géneros dentro de la misma familia. Se han registrado 36 especies fósiles incluidas en ámbar. La taxonomía de arañas actuales y la de fósiles no son disciplinas completamente independientes.

    The New Cambridge Medieval History The fourth volume of The New Cambridge Medieval History covers the eleventh and twelfth centuries, which comprised perhaps the most dynamic period in the European middle ages. This is a history of Europe, but the continent is interpreted widely to include the Near East and North Africa as well. The volume is divided into two Parts of which this, the second, deals with the course of events, ecclesiastical and secular, and major developments in an age marked by the transformation of the position of the papacy in a process fuelled by a radical reformation of the church, the decline of the western and eastern empires, the rise of western kingdoms and Italian elites, and the development of governmental structures, the beginnings of the recovery of Spain from the Moors and the establishment of western settlements in the eastern Mediterranean region in the wake of the crusades. In 2006 we sampled 30 tree canopies in the 'Burgaue' nature reserve with pyrethrum knock-down fogging, recording 502 adult spiders belonging to 48 species and 1 1 families. Based on these data and the results of a previous fogging study, the studied spider community was dominated by forest and forest-edge species with a preference for the shrub and canopy strata as well as by spiders of the web spider feeding guild. The community structure was typical for arboreal spider communities from northern temperate forests but very different from communities in the tropics.Species richness and evenness were similar to the old growth near-primary Biafowieza Forest in Poland. The checklist of 96 canopy spider species of the floodplain forest of Leipzig includes 54 additions to the spider fauna of Leipzig and vicinity by recent canopy studies and eight first canopy records for Leipzig from our field work. The theridiid Dipoena torva (Thorell, 1 875) was recorded for the first time in Saxony.

Munis Entomology & Zoology, 12 (2): 433-469] ABSTRACT: The list provides an annotated checklist of all the spiders from Turkey. A total of 1117 spider species and two subspecies belonging to 52 families have been reported. The list is dominated by members of the families Gnaphosidae (145 species), Salticidae (143 species) and Linyphiidae (128 species) respectively. KEY WORDS: Araneae, Checklist, Turkey, Fauna To date, Turkish researches have been published three checklist of spiders in the country. The first checklist was compiled by Karol (1967) and contains 302 spider species. The second checklist was prepared by Bayram (2002). He revised Karol’s (1967) checklist and reported 520 species from Turkey. Latest checklist of Turkish spiders was published by Topçu et al. (2005) and contains 613 spider records. A lot of work have been done in the last decade about Turkish spiders. So, the checklist of Turkish spiders need to be updated. We updated all checklist and prepare a new checklist using all published the available literatures. This list contains 1117 species of spider species and subspecies belonging to 52 families from Turkey (Table 1). This checklist is compile from literature dealing with the Turkish spider fauna. The aim of this study is to determine an update list of spider in Turkey.
