A) Mining Method Opencast method of mining is carried out in this mine by manually with manual benches with an height of 5-6m and semi mechanization by using compressor operated jackhammer drills, excavators and dumper etc. Transportation will be made by trucks to dispatching points. Hydraulic excavator and compressor jack hammers were used for cutting the rock. Close shed drilling was adopted along by forming bench of 6m height. In this manner the sheet rock is exposed. It is envisaged to produce 10380m3 of salable granite each year and to rise. This volume of rock 34300 m3 of total rock mass has to mine. It is envisaged to produce 11400m3 of salable granite blocks in each year. To raise this target production in five years about 11400m3 of rock mass had to be mined. Most of the area is covered by sheet rock from top to bottom. During five years operations a total rock mass of 173000m3 will be excavated and 51900 m3 of granite blocks will be

SEPARATION OF LARGE PRIMARY BLOCKS FROM THE MOTHER ROCK BY PRE-SPLITTING After removal of the overburden the sheet formation is exposed. Then either naturally occurring vertical / inclined joint plane i.e., attempted to develop a working face. After exposing the working face the rock splitting is affected by using jack Hammers operated by compressed air for putting line-holes for wedging. Alternatively, the rock splitting also can be effected by natural joints (both epi and syngenetic) joints are also helpful in primary rock separation from the mother rock. Separation of primary blocks from mother rock and obtained the block size 320 x 200 x 200 cm. SUB DIVISION OF LARGE PRIMARY BLOCKS INTO SECONDARY BLOCK After primary separation the rock mass will be carefully examined to avoid hair line rocks, mineral segregations and veins etc; the dressing of the rough blocks will be made by clipping the edges and geometrically equaling the edges of the block at the dressing yard. In case of extracting huge size during the stage of rock splitting, such blocks are cut by using Diamond wire-saw to suit the size of gang- saw. The rough blocks obtained after primary cut need to be dressed for obtaining good geometric shape from one primary block two numbers of secondary blocks can be made dimensional shape of 1 to 3m3 in size, and the same measurements are 180x100x60 cm to 200x150x100 cm. Removal/Excavation of O.B. and other quarry waste The O.B. consists of soil and weathered colour granite boulders of various sizes. They shall be loaded into tippers by using excavators. The waste is then hauled to the proposed dump yard on South-western side of the Q.L. applied area

Production of commercial blocks The main idea is to bring the block to proper dimension after chipping the rough corners. It is done manually using hand held wedges. Flaws like black lines, fractures and penetrative cracks are taken care of at this stage of forming commercially marketable blocks. LIST OF MACHINERY a) Since it has been decided to undertake semi-mechanized mining operations, the below mentioned mine machinery will be deployed. Machinery Quantity Excavator 300cfm 1 no. Tipper 4 no. Compressors 2 no. Jack hammers 6 no. b) Minor Tools: Chisels, Crow bars, pick of axes spades. Taking 25 working days in a month, there will be 300 working days in a year. The expected output of raw material per day is about 2 to 3 CBM on an average. Based on the demands from the purchasers, labour force will be increased. Loading Equipment Loading of the blocks will be made by chain pulley with the help of crane or proclaim by the skilled labours to the hired trucks to transport the material to the destination of customer. ANNEXURE II DRILLING & BLASTING Drilling and blasting plays vital role in determining the size and shape of rough blocks. Drilling Pattern is important in developing a working face and also preparing the rough blocks suitable for their use in appropriate processing units. There are no important places in and around the area, blasting will be carried with precautionary measures. a. Broad Blasting Parameters Drill-Hole patterns for primary and secondary smooth blasting. Uniform single line equidistant holes (line drilling) will be deployed for separation of blocks from mother rock. In the case of sheet rock the primary drilling will be in the form of equidistant vertical holes to take out blocks of Gang Saw. 1. Drilling Parameters i. Drill holes diameter: 34mm ii. Depth and inclination of the blast holes: 4.5 meter in case of separation primary blocks depending on the block size. Then the drill-hole will be vertical. iii. Spacing and Burden: 15 cm iv. Explosive type: (1) Slurry based explosives or Gun Powder.

Site services

It is proposed to provide the site services like mine office and other statutory constructions like rest shelter, first aid, work shed and drinking water as required near the quarry lease area. Drinking water will be supplied to the workers from the bore well opened in the adjacent agricultural field or from nearby village.

ANNEXURE – IV Solid Waste Management plan During five years operations a total rock mass of 173000m3 will be excavated and 51900 m3 of granite blocks will be recoverable from this rock mass and remaining material of about 121100m3 will go as waste mineral. Dumping site particulars Waste will be dumped in the SE of the area at non mineral zone in the area of 2.31ha with an height of 30m. During the first five years about 121100m3 of waste material will be generated. During the lease period total waste quantity is 484400m3. Step dumping will be resorted. This material can be utilized to fill the pits after quarry operations are over. When the dumps reach their optimum height suitable greenery will be grown on these dumps to stabilize them.
