Ltd. proposes to conduct semi mechanized open cast method quarrying for Colour granite extraction in an area of 13.029 ha in Survey No. 1/P of Singupuram Village, Meliaputti Mandal, Srikakulam District, Andhra Pradesh. The quarry lease deed was executed by the Assistant Director of Mines & Geology, vide Proceedings No. 347 / Q / 2010 dated 22.08.2011 for a period of 20 years from 22.08.2011 to 21.08.2031. It is proposed to conduct semi mechanized open cast method quarrying for Colour granite production of 2700 m3/annum. Capital proposed for quarrying is Rs. 63 Lakhs. 2.0 Quarry Lease Area Location The The proposed quarry lease area of 13.029 ha in Survey No. 1/P of Singupuram Village, Meliaputti Mandal, Srikakulam District, Andhra Pradesh. The quarry lease area falls in the Survey of India topo sheet no. 74 B/5 with the co-ordinates of Latitude 18°45'24.75"N and Longitude 84°16'11.88"E with an elevation of 175 m. Nearest village is Rangadaghari located at a distance of 1.1 km from the QL area in S direction. Meliaputti to Tekkalipatnam Road is passing at a distance of 1.1 km in SW direction. NH-5 is passing at a distance of 9.4 km in SE direction. Nearest town is Palasa at a distance of 14.4 km in NE direction. Palasa railway station is at a distance of 16km in E direction. Mahendratanaya River is flowing at a distance of 9.1 km from the QL area in NW direction. Bamsadhara Canal is flowing at a distance of 7.5 km in SE direction. Banapuram Reserve Forest is located adjacent to the lease area. Jhadupalli Reserved Forest is at distance of 1.1 km in SW direction. Lavanyakota Reserved Forest is at distance of 6.7 km in NE direction. Durgam RF is at 3.8 km in NW direction. Durgam Protected Forest is at distance of 3.0 km in N direction. Kalasingi Protected Forest is at distance of 4.9 km in NE direction. Pedda Kedari Reserved Forest is at distance of 7.4 km in SW direction. Andhra Pradesh- Odisha interstate boundary is passing at a distance of 3.0 km in NW direction. There are no national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and critically polluted areas observed in 10km radius from the quarry lease area. Details of the mine lease area are presented in table A-1. From the base of the proved zone, a 5 m depth is considered for the estimation of the reserves under the 'probable' category and from the base of the probable zone, a 5 m depth is considered for the estimation of the reserves under the 'possible' category. The quality of granite is likely to be the same as one in the proved zone. The reserves are estimated by sectional method. It consists of calculating the area and multiplying it by zone of influence to arrive at the volume. The reserves computed on the basis of the above consideration are given in the table A-2. Ltd Annexure of Form-1 Blocked in benches = 255137 m 3 Balance Reserves = 2296238 m 3 Life of the Mine = 2296238 m3/2700 m 3 = 850 years 4.0 Quarrying Method The Colour Granite in the quarry lease applied area is exposed on the surface with boulders. (Hence, it is proposed to mine the boulders / sheet by open cast, semi- mechanized methods, by developing the benches of 6 m height in 2 phases of 3 m height). Wire Saw cutting will be deployed based on the favorable conditions. The development of benches in the sheet rock will be maintained @ 60° safety slopes. The separation of blocks from the mother rock will be carried out by drilling, wedge cutting, blasting; excavation will be done by the machinery. The secondary splitting, dressing of blocks will be done manually. Therefore, mining operations are to be carried out in this area in 2 stages. i. Development ii. The annual excavated material is calculated 9000 m3 and considering a recovery of 30 % it is A-5 Designer Rocks Pvt. The top RL will be 186 m and the bottom RL will be 174 m. 2nd Year: Orientation of the bench will be in the N-S Direction and so will be the advancement. The annual excavated material is calculated 9000 m3 and considering a recovery of 30 % it is planned to produce 2700 m3 of saleable blocks and 6300 m3 of waste will be generated. The top RL will be 178 m and the bottom RL will be 168 m. 3rd Year: Orientation of the bench will be in the N-S Direction and so will be the advancement. The annual excavated material is calculated 9000 m3 and considering a recovery of 30 % it is planned to produce 2700 m3 of saleable blocks and 6300 m3 of waste will be generated. The top RL will be 178 m and the bottom RL will be 168 m. 4th Year Orientation of the bench will be in the N-S Direction and so will be the advancement. The annual excavated material is calculated 9000 m3 and considering a recovery of 30 % it is planned to produce 2700 m3 of saleable blocks and 6300 m3 of waste will be generated. The top RL will be 168 m and the bottom RL will be 162 m. 5th Year: Orientation of the bench will be in the N-S Direction and so will be the advancement. The annual excavated material is calculated 9000 m3 and considering a recovery of 30 % it is planned to produce 2700 m3 of saleable blocks and 6300 m3 of waste will be generated. The top RL will be 168 m and the bottom RL will be 162 m. Year wise production and waste generation is presented in table A-3. The total quantity of material planned to be excavated during the plan period is estimated as 45000 m3 and out of which the saleable blocks are estimated to be 13500 m3 and the waste generated will be 31500 m3. Important achievements since 2014: 1.1 After analyzing the deficiencies in Jalayagnam projects, Government adopted 3 pronged strategy - Water conservation, River Linkage including Completion of pending projects and Water Management including micro irrigation to achieve the vision of making the state drought proof and to provide water security to all its Citizens. To overcome spreading out of expenditure thinly over large number of projects taken up under Jalayagnam, Government prioritized certain projects which will realize maximum benefits with the available funds to complete them in a time bound manner. 1.2 An Expenditure of Rs.63,657.52 Crore is incurred in Water Resources Sector and irrigation facilities are provided to an extent of 32.02 Lakh acres including stabilization. 1.3 Polavaram Project: Government have given highest importance for the completion of the project, which is the lifeline of the state. Total Expenditure incurred is Rs. 15,363.79 Crores, out of which Rs. 10,227.92 Crores is incurred after 1.4.2014. Government of India reimbursed only Rs. 6,727.264 Cr. and Rs. 3500.66 Cr. is yet to be reimbursed. Works are in full swing and it is scheduled to supply water by gravity in next Khariff season. It is programmed to complete the project by 2019. 1.4 To realize early benefits of Polavaram Project, Government completed Patiseema lift Scheme and linked two major rivers Godavari and Krishna. During the last 4 crop seasons, 263 TMC of Godavari Water is diverted to Krishna. This facilitated commencement of khariff crop in Krishna delta in June itself, so that crop is completed by November, avoiding damages due to cyclones.

For the religions (Urdu people) minorities, 5 new primary schools will be opened. 26 schools vill be opened for oriya(linguistic minorities) in bilingual mandals of the district. 500 ECE centres will bes opened for preparing the children of age group 3-5 for primary schooling uncovered by ICDS department. The vision will be realised through convergences of the service of health, women and child and other related departments, community will be made the mainstake holder in education planning and management for effective delivery of educational service.
