Despite the economic and financial uncertainty in the first half of 2009, the Club performed very well. There was an increase in the number of members supporting the various social and sporting activities organized by the Club. The participation rate for STAR Games saw a 4.7% increase over that of FY 08/09. These are very encouraging indicators that members are keen to participate in the activities organised by the Club and are enjoying them. This will motivate the management to strive harder to enhance our services and upgrade the Club’s facilities to meet the members’ needs. For FY 10/11, the Club will improve the existing facilities and explore new initiatives to provide better facilities for our members. The Club will venture into new destinations when organising short tours for our members. More family based activities will also be organized to enable family bonding. Activities that have proven to be popular with our members will continue to be organised and improved upon. A Fruit Machine management system has been introduced in April 2010 that will speed up the payment of credits as well as implementing a loyalty program to the players. A daily and monthly mystery bonus payout from the cashcade is in place to increase the chances of winning for the players. However, we urge the members to exercise restraint and prudence when enjoying these fruit machines. The Club will also be improving on its connectivity and accessibility. Cable television will be installed in all the Clubhouses, so that members can enjoy viewing more channels. All the premises will be WIFI enabled. The website will WIFI be revamped to make it more user friendly, interactive and appealing. Over the next 2 months, the Club has planned a variety of activities and events to meet the varying needs of members. Activities that will be organised include Mother’s Day Special, Family Day, Children’s Camp, enrichment classes for children, cooking classes for adults, family based activities and the ever popular local and overseas tours. MOTHERS DAY Do check them out either in the Fusion magazine, the Club’s website or on the recently installed LCDs at any of the Clubhouses. 4 GM’s Desk From The From 9th June 2010 is a significant date for our Club. It marks the 20th Anniversary of the official opening of Tessensohn Clubhouse which was officially opened by our then President of Singapore, Mr Wee Kim Wee. To commemorate this significant occasion, Tessensohn Clubhouse will be organising a special dinner at Qian Xi Restaurant on 9 June 2010 at 7:30pm. More than 50% discount will be given to all the members who have been members of the Club for 20 years or more, when they attend this dinner. To show the Club’s appreciation of their unfailing and loyal support to the Club, a welcome gift will also be given to them. Members whose memberships have been 20 years and more will be invited by the Club to attend this dinner.

  • Thai Cuisine 1 Thai Cuisine
Thai cuisine 1 Thai cuisine - Thai seafood curry - Kaeng phet pet yang: roast duck in red curry Thai cuisine is the national cuisine of Thailand. Blending elements of several Southeast Asian traditions, Thai cooking places emphasis on lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatic components. The spiciness of Thai cuisine is well known. As with other Asian cuisines, balance, detail and variety are of great significance to Thai chefs. Thai food is known for its balance of three to four fundamental taste senses in each dish or the overall meal: sour, sweet, salty, and bitter.[1] Influences Although popularly considered a single cuisine, Thai cuisine is more accurately described as four regional cuisines corresponding to the four main regions of the country: Northern, Northeastern (or Isan), Central, and Southern, each cuisine sharing similar foods or foods derived from those of neighboring countries and regions: Burma to the northwest, the Chinese province of Yunnan and Laos to the north, Vietnam and Cambodia to the east and Malaysia to the south of Thailand. In addition to these four regional cuisines, there is also the Thai Royal Cuisine which can trace its history back to the cosmopolitan palace cuisine of the Ayutthaya kingdom (1351–1767 CE). Its refinement, cooking techniques and use of ingredients were of great influence to the cuisine of the Central Thai plains. Thai cuisine and the culinary traditions and cuisines of Thailand's neighbors have mutually influenced one another over the course of many centuries. Regional variations tend to correlate to neighboring states (often sharing the same cultural background and ethnicity on both sides of the border) as well as climate and geography.
