READ ALL ABOUT IT! Lois Ellen Frank received a James Beard Award for her cookbook, Foods of the Southwest Indian Nations. We are so proud to have one of our resident chefs win this prestigious award. James Campbell Caruso has a cookbook coming out in the spring of 2004. It will be filled with all of the wonderful Spanish appetizers from his restaurant, El Farol. Daniel Hoyer is busy traveling and researching foods of Mexico for his upcoming cookbook on Mexican cuisine. The retail staff has been very busy expanding and rearranging the floor. It looks great and is so easy to shop. Stop in, visit us and see the improvements. The most exciting news of all is the arrival of the newest member of the Santa Fe School of Cooking team. Haley Parker Ammerman was born on June 19th. Nicole and daughter are doing well. Both can be found at the School in the new office/nursery on many days of the week. We hope to see you in the coming months. If not, visit us on the internet at www.santafeschoolofcooking.com where you can shop our market, AND register for classes on line. BUEN PROVECHO! The Staff at the Santa Fe School of Cooking La Chamba Black Clay Pottery Micaceous pottery is as utilitarian as it is exquisite to look at. Use in the oven, stovetop, or microwave. Over time, heat will bring back the red clay’s color which further adds to the beauty of this unglazed pottery made in Columbia, South America. Great for cooking soups and stews. Each piece is handcrafted and unique. This uniqueness is what makes La Chamba so special and beautiful, but at the same time, difficult to standardize for our catalog.
