The text is comparable with the text of the Siddur Tehillat Hashem . It is provided via the Internet as a resource for study and for use for prayer when a Siddur is not immediately available. This text was created with the many people in mind that travel through out the world and find, to their horror, that their Siddur is missing. Now it’s accessible for all of us in those emergency situations. One should not rely only upon this text. A Siddur is not just an order of prayer. It is intended to serve as a text for education in Jewish tradition and the keeping of mitzvot. This text lacks many of those qualities. Thus, one should own a Siddur of their own and study it. When printed this text is “sheymish”, or bearing the Divine Name. On paper it is fit for sacred use and therefore should not be disposed of or destroyed. If you print it, when you are finished it should be taken to a local Orthodox synagogue so that it may be buried in honor, according to Jewish Law. Version 3.2 C November 2010 - 1 - ✶✶✶ ברכות השח ר ✶ Morning Blessings Upon awakening, before saying any other words or arising from bed, one is obligated to first acknowledge God as King, worthy of our gratitude: מLֶדמLֶד ה ה ֲאִני ְלָפֶניך ֶמֶלך ַ חי ְוַקָיּם, ֶשֶׁהֱחַזְרָתּ ִבּי ִנְשָׁמִתי ְבֶּחְמָל ה. ַרָבּה ֱאמוָּנֶתך: ★ סדר נטילת ידים ★ The Order of Ritual Washing of the Hands Before saying any blessings that contain Divine Names or words of Torah one is first required to wash in the ritual manner. One should take a cup and fill it with water, lift it with the right hand, pass it to their left hand and pour the water over the right hand up to the wrist. The cup should then be passed to the left hand and poured over the right. One should then continue to wash the hands twice more passing the cup back and forth so that one has rinsed each hand three times, in an alternating fashion. One should then recite: בָּ בָּ רוּךרוּך ַאָתּה ְיָי ֱאלֵהינוּ ֶמ ֶלך ָהעLָלם, ֲאֶשׁר ִקְדָּשׁנוּ ְבִּמְצLָתיו, ְוִצָונוּ ַעל ְנִטיַלת ָיָדים: ★ ברכת אשר יצר ★ The Blessing of Asher Yatzar C The Bathroom Blessing Upon evacuation of one's bowels the following blessings is said as well. It should also be said each time through out the day after going to the restroom, however without ritual washing noted above. Even though many of these blessings relate the motions of arising, dressing, etc. they are required to be said even if they don't specifically apply to oneself C for example, if a person did not take off his clothes at night, or say if one did not sleep in a bed. If one awakes at any time after midnight he may say all of these blessings. One should examine the corners and coils of the tallit katan for damage before wearing it, on weekdays the coils should then also be separated from each other. The tzitzit should be taken in one's hand; in the right hand for a right,handed person, in the left hand for a left,handed person. The blessing should then be said, the tzitzit are then kissed and released. בָּ בָּ רוּךרוּך ַאָתּה ְיָי ֱאלֵהינוּ ֶ ֶמלך ָהעLָלם , ֲאֶשׁר ִקְדָּשׁנוּ ְבִּמְצLָתיו, ְוִצָוּנוּ ַעל ִמְצַות ִציִצית: ★ סדר לבישת טלית גדול ★ The Order of Putting on the Tallit Gadol of Karbanot C ” ֵאיֶזהוּ ְמקLָמן “ It is Chabad custom to not don tallit and teffillin before saying the Offerings , located on page “16” One should take the folded tallit and place it on his right shoulder with the tzitzit facing forward; while inspecting the tzitzit for damages, one should recite the following: ָבְּרִכי ַנְפִשׁי אֶ ת ְיָי , ְיָי ֱאל ַהי ָגַּדְלָתּ ְמֹּאד, הLד ְוָהָדר ָלָבְשָׁתּ : עLֶט ה אLר ַכַּשְּׂלָמה, נLֶטה ָשַׁמִים ַכְּיִריָעה:1 1 Psalms 104:1,2 - 6 - One should then take the tallit and unfold it, hanging it outstretched with the band facing you. Then take the tallit and swing it around and behind as one would a cape, while beginning to say the blessing. As one recites the blessing they should be mindful of the command to wrap ourselves in tzitzit, as a reminder of all the commandments of the Torah: בָּ בָּ רוּךרוּך ַאָתּה ְיָי ֱאלֵהינוּ ֶמ ֶלך ָהעLָלם, ֲאֶשׁר ִקְדָּשׁנוּ ְבִּמְצLָתיו, ְוִצָוּנוּ ְלִהְתַעֵטּף ְבִּציִצית: As one concludes the blessing they should take the two right corners of the tallit and drape them over the right shoulder; thus the right corners are draped over the left shoulder, so the right tzitzit are now behind you, like a closed shawl.
