KAYSERSBERG, Alsace FRENCH MOMENTS INTENSIVE COURSE 22 September to 3 October 2014 www.frenchmoments.com Learn French in Kaysersberg, in the heart of the scenic Alsace Wine Route. Excellent cuisine, rich history and delightful scenery awaits you... French Moments is running a 12 day intensive course between the 22nd September and 3rd October 2014 which combines 30 hours of lessons with a delightful balance of activities and excursions. There is also a healthy amount of down-time so you have time to relax and re-fuel, maybe savour some local produce or just curl up in the sunshine with a book! The course is educational but fun, with a choice of levels which combine the French language with learning about the local and general French culture. Classes take place in the Kaysersberg town centre in the local médiathèque. Outings and workshops are varied and balanced to teach you about the local area and to enable you to experience France for yourself. Kaysersberg Several cities and villages along the Alsace Wine Route have become famous and attract a very large crowd of visitors during the summer months and Christmas. These gems of the wine country are often made up of old medieval ramparts, winding alleyways that bloom with magnificent geraniums, winstubs, vaults, half-timbered houses, and medieval churches. Many town names have become synonymous with rich traditions, warm welcomes, prosperity and great wines. One of them has become a favourite destination over the years: Kaysersberg. Kaysersberg, the “Mountain of the Emperor”, certainly deserves its prestigious name. A tourist hotspot, the little city houses some of the most beautiful half-timbered houses of the Renaissance in Alsace in its entirely pedestrian centre. The city of Kaysersberg and its viticulture are dominated by the castle ruins, which now only consist of a beautiful round tower. The view from its summit offers a panorama of the city, the valley of the Weiss, the vineyards and the Plain of Alsace, and beyond, the Black Forest in Germany. Kaysersberg (pop. 3,000) is located 10 km from Colmar where the TGV train can reach Paris in just 2.5 hours. The town centre has all sorts of shops and stores: bakeries and patisseries, butchers, post office, tourist office, grocers, banks, cellars, gift shops, bookshops, etc. We can’t wait to share Kaysersberg and the surrounding vineyards with you!
