with the main objective to source and deliver fuel – primarily as Biofuel/Biomass. Biomass traded under the Verdo Trading scope of SBP Biomass Producer is Woodchips and Fuel Woodlogs. The Sourcing-areas are principally the entire world – and the sale is principally also taking place all over the world. Though, the primary customer is the CHP-plant in Randers (owned and operated by Verdo Energy A/S). Verdo A/S and Verdo Trading A/S is dedicated to sustainable development and has an ambition to live up to the global goals on sustainable development by 2030. This is transformed into responsible actions towards the climate, society, diversity and environment in a wide span of various actions. In 2009 Verdo converted production at the CHP plant in Randers. Coal was replaced with biomass and this was supplemented with several energy-efficient measures. In regards to biomass sourcing and trading, it is to Verdo Trading at all times an uncompromised priority to ensure responsible and sustainable sourcing. Verdo Trading presently holds the following certificates: FSC, PEFC and SBP Chain of Custody. Notre compréhension de l'utilisation des plantes par les Inuits a commencé par suite de la prise en compte de concepts tels que la diversité bioculturelle et les espèces clés, et ces nouvelles idées ont commencé à dissiper les mythes sur le manque d’importance des plantes dans la culture inuite. Les Inuits peuvent être regroupés en quatre régions en fonction de la langue: l'Alaska, l'Arctique ouest canadien, l'Arctique et la région subarctique est canadienne et le Groenland. Le chapitre 1 passera en revue la littérature sur l'utilisation des plantes inuites de l'Alaska au Groenland. Au total, 311 taxons ont été mentionnés dans les quatre régions, ce qui correspond à 73 familles. Les niveaux de diversité étaient similaires dans les quatre régions. Seuls 25 taxons et 16 familles étaient communs à toutes les régions, mais 50%-75% des taxons et 75%-90% familles étaient signalés dans au moins deux régions, et les régions voisines ont généralement un chevauchement plus élevé que les régions plus éloignées. The knowledge of the flora of the Czech Republic has substantially improved since the second ver- sion of the national Red List was published, mainly due to large-scale field recording during the last decade and the resulting large national databases. In this paper, an updated Red List is presented and compared with the previous editions of 1979 and 2000. The complete updated Red List consists of 1720 taxa (listed in Electronic Appendix 1), accounting for more then a half (59.2%) of the native flora of the Czech Republic. Of the Red-Listed taxa, 156 (9.1% of the total number on the list) are in the A categories, which include taxa that have vanished from the flora or are not known to occur at present, 471 (27.4%) are classified as critically threatened, 357 (20.8%) as threatened and 356 (20.7%) as endangered. From 1979 to 2000 to 2012, there has been an increase in the total number of taxa included in the Red List (from 1190 to 1627 to 1720) and in most categories, mainly for the following reasons: (i) The continuing human pressure on many natural and semi-natural habitats is reflected in the increased vulnerability or level of threat to many vascular plants; some vulnerable species therefore became endangered, those endangered critically threatened, while species until recently not classified may be included in the Red List as vulnerable or even endangered.

In the Mediterranean Basin, forests cover approximately 22% of the total land area hosting a large number of endemics (46 species). Despite its particularities and vulnerability, the biodiversity of Mediterranean trees is not well known at the taxonomic, spatial, functional, and genetic levels required for conservation applications. The WOODIV database flls this gap by providing reliable occurrences, four functional traits (plant height, seed mass, wood density, and specifc leaf area), and sequences from three DNA-regions (rbcL, matK, and trnH-psbA), together with modelled occurrences and a phylogeny for all 210 Euro- Mediterranean tree species. We compiled, homogenized, and verifed occurrence data from sparse datasets and collated them on an INSPIRE-compliant 10 × 10 km grid. We also gathered functional trait and genetic data, flling existing gaps where possible. The WOODIV database can beneft macroecological studies in the felds of conservation, biogeography, and community ecology.
