Pietra Susumainelo Salento 2018 | 12.50 It’s a fun grape to say. (We’ve listened to the gentleman on Forvo.com, and can’t quite mimic it. Close approximation: sue sue manny yellow.) It’s an ancient and rare Italian grape that hails from the Salento Peninsula— the heel of the boot of Italy. What’s it like? It has the tannin of a Cabernet Sauvignon, the plummy brambly fruit of Zinfandel, and the acidity of Sangiovese. It’s a fun flavor trip.
