Nous considérons utile de recueillir et de systématiser ces éléments épars, par rapport A, la situation du roumain.. On a insisté déjà sur les différences entre Palbanais et le roumain quant A, la contribution du latin à la structure des vocabulaires chrétiens des deux langues. Il s'agit, selon E. Qabej (1962, 168; 1965 p. 57), G. R. Solta (1980, p. 134) et II. Mibäescu (1993, p. 89, 474) dua' fait que le vocabulaire ecclésiastique albanais est presque entièrement d'origine latine, tandis qu'en roumain, nombreux mots lating ont été remplacés, probablement, par des termes slaves et grecs byzantins. A notre avis malgré le fait que ces affirmations soient en général correctes avant toute considération ou conclusion visant la concur- rence dans ce domaine lexical entre les éléments d'origine latine et les éléments d'autre origine, il serait encore nécessaire d'avoir A, la disposition la liste exhaustive si possible des termes chrétiens latins de l'alba- naisi comparée A, la liste des termes correspondants du roumain En ce qui suit, done, nous nous proposons de rédiger cette liste, en partant de la phase actuelle de la* langue. La terminologie chrétienne d'origine latine en roumain a été étu- diée par L. Säineanu (1887), C. Diculescu (1910), V. Pärvan (1911), W. Domaschke (1919), S. Purariu (1920), S. Pop (1936), Tatiana Foltisch (1953), P. S. Nästurel (1958), Gr. Brancus (1991) ; nous ajoutons les chapitres rédigés là-dessous, dans leurs syntèses sur Phistoire des Rou- mains, par A. D. Xenopol (1985), N. Iorga (1937, 1992), C. Giurescu (1938), G. I. Brätianu (1988). Sur la terminologie aThanaise, faute d'un étude spéciale, on trouve des reseignements chez G. Stadtmiiller (1942), C. Taglia- vini (1963), E. Çabej (1962, 1964, 1964 a, 1965,11976, 1982, 1987, 1976 a), H Mihäescu (1966, 1981, 1993), H. Haarmann (1972), J. Kristophson (1988). On February 7, 1392, the young lady Jelena Dragaš arrived in Constantinople, the bride-to-be of Emperor Manuel II Palaiologos (1391-1425). A grand-niece of the great Serbian Emperor Stefan Dušan, and daughter of one of the last great lords of the remnants of the Serbian Empire in Central Greece, she would be the last empress-mother of Byzantium, and the mother of the last Palaeologi.2 Her granddaughter, following her example, would become the last Despoina of Serbia.3 Helena’s father, Thomas, was the youngest son of Manuel II Palaiologos and the last Byzantine Despot to rule over the Morea, as well as a fierce advocate of the Union between the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, which he considered was the path for the ultimate salvation of Byzantium. Her mother, Aikaterine Asanina- Zaccaria, was the daughter of the last ruler of Latin Achaea, Centurione Zaccaria, vassal of Ladislas d’Anjou-Durazzo, King of Naples and lord of what remained of Frankish Morea.4 Serbo-Byzantine marriages had occurred many times in the past years, when the Empire was still vast and powerful.

Cipariu Dan Mircea prin care acesta solicita să se constate alege‑ rea nestatutară în anii 2009 şi 2013 a dlui. Nicolae Manolescu în funcţia de Preşedinte al USR şi lipsa de reprezentativitate legală şi statutară a mem‑ brilor organelor executive de conducere ale USR conduse de dl. Nicolae Manolescu. Deşi nu mai este membru al Uniunii Scriitorilor din România, dl. Cipariu Dan Mircea a contestat alegerea dlui. Nicolae Manolescu şi celor‑ lalţi membri ai organelor de conducere, după 7 ani şi, respectiv, după 3 ani de la data alegerilor. C Prin acţiunea formulată, dl. Cipariu Dan Mircea susţine că alegerea Preşedintelui Uniunii Scriitorilor din România nu ar fi fost făcută în urma unor adunări generale organizate statutar la care să fi putut participa toţi A membrii. Judecătoria Sectorului 1 a respins această acţiune, aşa cum respinsese anterior şi două cereri având ca obiect suspendarea Preşedintelui Nicolae F Manolescu din funcţiile deţinute, până la soluţionarea dosarului vizând verificarea legalităţii alegerilor şi reprezentativităţii statutare. Reamintim că, deşi organele actuale de conducere sunt alese pentru un mandat în perioada 2013‑2018, care nu a încetat în niciun fel, diferite É persoane îşi arogă diverse funcţii în care s‑au auto‑ales, fără respectarea dispoziţiilor statutului Uniunii Scriitorilor din România şi cu încălcarea APOSTROFprevederilor legale. Introduction Macedonia, both the ancient historical Greek land and the modern geographical region known by that name, has been perhaps one of the most heavily discussed countries in the world. In the more than two centuries since the representatives of revolutionary France introduced into western insular and continental Greece the ideas and slogans that fostered nationalism, the ancient Greek country has been the subject of inquiry, and the object of myth-making, on the part of archaeologists, historians, ethnologists, political scientists, social anthropologists, geographers and anthropogeographers, journalists and politicians. The changing face of the ancient country and its modern sequel, as recorded in the testimonies and studies of those who have applied themselves to the subject, is the focus of this present work. Since the time, two centuries ago, when the world’s attention was first directed to it, the issue of the future of this ancient Greek land – the “Macedonian Question” as it was called – stirred the interest or attracted the involvement of scientists, journalists, diplomats and politicians, who moulded and remoulded its features. The periodical cri- ses in the Macedonian Question brought to the fore important researchers and generated weighty studies, which, however, with few exceptions, put forward aspects and charac- teristics of Macedonia that did not always correspond to the reality and that served a variety of expediencies. This militancy on the part of many of those who concerned themselves with the ancient country and its modern sequel was, of course, inevitable, given that all or part of that land was claimed by other peoples of south-eastern Europe as well as the Greeks.

Today, there are four mosques, three of them very well preserved, while the Jewish synagogue, built in 1826, continues to exist and be the largest and most beautiful of the surviving religious buildings of the Greek Jews.

For it was then necessary that two crucial questions be answered, namely who were to be considered as citizens of the new state about to be created and what regions it covered. The attempt to find answers to these questions necessarily led to the re-examination of the Greek nation’s historical course over the millenia. For this purpose the terms that express the concepts which register the self-definition of a human group and their use over time, are here examined as well as the links that formed the connection between the groups of Greek-speaking Orthodox Christians who, as a result of historical circumstances, had until then been geographically scattered. One solid link was the unbroken use of their common language; the “ancestral culture” was the other definitive element which had a continuous though uneven presence throughout the centuries. Finally the “place”, having preserved the same geographical name, “Hellas”, through the centuries although its borders were certainly unclear, now took on a weighty significance as regards the conscious identification of the historical land with the new state that the Greeks were struggling to create in the nineteenth century.
