CAROL TYLER 2 Mill Fosse, The Bridge, , North DL8 3QF Telephone - 01969 667 227 email - [email protected]

Born in County Durham, Carol started her formal art education in the Midlands in the 1980s at Kidderminster and Wolverhampton. Her BA was followed by an MA at Birmingham Institute of Art and Design. Following all this studying she settled down to develop her own visual language.

"The unifying aspect throughout all my work is the love of light and atmosphere coupled with a minimalist sense of form and structure. I am drawn to the sublime rather than the beautiful - to winter and quietness - patina, traces and remains"

She has exhibited widely since the 1980’s. Selected exhibitions are listed below. In 1995 Carol was artist- in-residence at Grizedale Forest in Cumbria for 2 months, living in a tiny caravan and working in an enormous studio above the visitors’ centre. This amazing experience finally brought her back to live in the north - first to the coast near for 4 years, and then in 2000 to the Dales. In 2009, one of Carol’s images has been reproduced as publicity for the North Moors Chamber Music Festival.
