Dear Future MMS Blue Devil,

Welcome to middle school! We are excited to welcome you to the growing Marietta Middle School Orchestra program. As a member of the orchestra, you have the opportunity to perform and bring music into your school and community.

Orchestra students have the opportunity to continue their studies on a string instrument and further develop the techniques and skills we MCS Orchestra Facts began to learn in 6th grade.  Founded in 2016  200+ students participate in MCS We play exciting music from all different styles – classical, pop, rock, orchestra across MSGA, MMS, and jazz, and movie themes. The possibilities are endless once you learn MHS. how to play your instrument.  Students participate in GYSO The orchestra performs 3-4 regular concerts throughout the school Sinfonia, Camerata, & year. Additionally, students who participate in the spring trip have the Philharmonic, District 12 Honor Orchestra, and All-state Orchestra. opportunity to perform in various locations around the country! We also offer a chamber strings program which performs regularly at school events. Upcoming Events

All 6 , 7 , 8 and high school orchestra students will perform Research proves that music students are: Wednesday, May 13th - Score significantly higher on the SAT and other standardized tests MMS Night of the Arts Spring Concert than the average general student body population; string students @ MPAC have the highest among music students - Leaders in classes and activities; members of academic honor groups TBA: July 20-24th - In the upper 10 percent of their graduating class Evening chamber camp for all middle school orchestra students.
