NOTICES

QUIZ NIGHT with Mike Banting Saturday 14th September 7 for 7.30pm in the Hall. Tables of 6. Bring your own wine and glasses, simple hot supper. This is always good fun. Do come along. Tables now booking through Wendy.

RIDE & STRIDE, also Saturday 14thSeptember. St. Andrew’s is one of only two churches that have competed every year, not a bad record out of 26 churches in the area! In that time we have raised almost £7,000, and on occasions contributed the largest sum in the year! 50% of the sum raised goes to support Churches and 50% to St. Andrew’s. Sponsor forms are now available from Duncan and we look for volunteers who will keep our record bright.

TREES. Members of the congregation will be aware that one of the trees in the Memorial Garden was cut down following professional advice as it was in danger of falling on the church. Members of MAP 3 Fabric Group plus Bruce Buckingham, our gardening expert, have considered what to do with the remaining stump. We have asked Peter Wade, (who has created the animals on the Chart, much loved by children and their families), if he would be willing to turn it into an appropriate carving. Peter has asked for guidance on this. We would welcome the views of members of the congregation. If you have any ideas, please contact Wendy or Diana Davy diana.green [email protected] by the 1st September. All ideas will be considered by the PCC which will have the final decision.

REMEMBRANCE GARDEN. A huge THANK YOU to Bruce for all his hard work in making the Remembrance Garden look so lovely. This is much appreciated as the garden is a very special place for me and I am sure to many others. Nichola (Hood). A regular visitor
