Welcome to Vilnius! We meet here for the 8th Industry Event Meeting Point – Vilnius. During three conference days you will visit industry screenings, seminars, inspiring talks, discussions, 3 Coming Soon presentations and networking gatherings.

5 Film marketing and promotion have always been the focus of this event. We are therefore motivated as well as privileged 7 to join forces with the European Film Forum – a conference 13 initiated by the European Commission. We wish to continue increasing promotion and building audiences, as these are 14 key to a sustainable and competitive European industry. We also intend to draw attention to the smaller, low production 15 capacity and non-hegemonic language European countries, so their voice would be heard and considered when discussing 25 visibility and accessibility of European audiovisual content across the continent.

However, promotion alone will not work without suitable ALGIRDAS RAMAŠKA content and entrepreneurial creators full of initiative, ideas, Vilnius International and eagerness to innovate. Nurturing new talents is another Executive Director big issue. We see it as our mission to help young creators in any way possible – to get them started, encourage them to believe in themselves and to provide a platform where they can advance their filmmaking careers.

Meeting Point – Vilnius is that platform. With the newly introduced COMING SOON NEW TALENTS, young creators from Eastern and will be able to present their first or second film projects to international film industry professionals, with the possibility to take their works on a journey across Europe. With Vilnius IFF Goes to Cannes, a joint Marché du Film and Vilnius IFF project, these films have the opportunity to be screened at the Cannes industry market and to be noticed by an even larger audience. The upcoming films included in COMING SOON FROM BALTICS will also compete to be shown at Cannes, as we believe that , and have a lot of potential. Furthermore, producers selected for the Vilnius IFF Goes to Cannes project will receive the Marché du Film accreditation and will be able to take part in the Producers Workshop – an intensive course to start on the international film market. It is the ideal opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, put forward the next project and learn how to achieve your goals! Krzysztof Zanussi is a film director, producer and scriptwriter. He studied physics at Warsaw University and philosophy at Jagiellonian University. He is the President of Tor Film Production, producer of films by Krzysztof Kieślowski, Agnieszka Holland and many others.

Arben Zharku is an actor and producer from Kosovo. In 2004, he graduated with a degree in acting from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pristina, and in 2009 he graduated from EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs). During 2003–2014, Arben worked as a manager at the Multimedia Centre in Pristina, which aims to develop contemporary and children’s theatre. As an actor, he has performed in theatre as well as film. He has worked on various films as a producer, and he makes efforts to extend his knowledge by gaining experience from film production experts.
