Transportation Options from Logan Airport (BOS) to Hotel Buckminster and Myles Standish Hall

The symposium will take place in the English Room at Myles Standish Hall, 610 Beacon St, Boston, MA 02215. The hotel for the symposium is Hotel Buckminster, 645 Beacon Street, Boston, MA 02215. These two locations are within a 5-minute walk from each other, and the closest Boston Subway station is .

1. Boston Buses and Subways

From Boston Logan Airport, you can take the local buses and subways for free to get to the Hotel Buckminster and Myles Standish Hall.

Step 1: After you have picked up your luggage, please proceed to the Ground Transportation area outside of your Airport Arrival Terminal and locate the waiting spot for the “Silver Line.”

Step 2: Take the “Silver Line” all the way to “.” This should be roughly a 10-to-20- minute ride, depending on traffic.

Step 3: At “South Station” station, locate the RED “Inbound” train to Alewife. Take the train to “Park Street.”

Step 4: At “Park Street” station, find the GREEN “Outbound” train, lettered B, C, or D. Be careful NOT to get on the E line. (See attached MBTA map)

Step 5: Take the GREEN B, C, or D train to Kenmore Station.

Step 6: Take the left exit out of Kenmore station. The Hotel Buckminster should be immediately visible to your left.

2. Logan Express

The Boston Logan Express bus is another quick option to get to the hotel. This option requires fewer station changes than the one above. The Express bus leaving from the airport will be free of charge. However, the subway ride from to Kenmore station will cost $2.40.

Step 1: After you have picked up your luggage, please proceed to the Ground Transportation area outside of your Airport Arrival Terminal and locate the waiting spot for the “Logan Express.”

Step 2: Wait for the Logan Express that goes to “Back Bay.” Take the bus all the way to the last stop. This should be a 20-to-25-minute ride depending on traffic.

Step 3: From the drop-off spot (which is close to the ), walk to the Green Line Copley “Outbound” Subway Station. It is adjacent to the Boston Public Library.

Step 4: Take the GREEN “Outbound” train, lettered B, C, or D to Kenmore Station. Be careful NOT to take the E line.

Step 5: Take the left exit out of Kenmore station. The Hotel Buckminster should be immediately visible to your left.

3. Taxis, UBER, and Lyft

If you are arriving late at night, early in the morning of the date of the symposium, or if you prefer not to navigate the Boston Public Transport system, you can also take taxis, UBER, or Lyft directly from Boston Logan Airport to the Hotel Buckminster.

The cost can range from $25 to $50 one-way, depending on traffic and price surges. Each airport terminal will have a designated space where you can get a taxi or ride-share service. Please ask the information desk so that they can direct you to the designated pick-up areas.

Note: While local buses, subways, and the Boston Logan Express bus from the airport to downtown Boston are free of charge, you will have to pay for transportation costs inside the city and from the city back to the airport. The current MBTA fare is $2.40 for one subway ride and $1.70 for one bus ride. The Boston Logan Express bus from Back Bay back to Logan Airport is $3.00. At most subway stations, there are fare machines where you can purchase individual subway and bus rides, as well as passes. If you are planning to stay in Boston for the whole duration of AAS and to explore the Boston area, you can consider purchasing a 7-day pass for $22.50 that offers unlimited bus and subway rides for 7 days. Transportation Options from AAS 2020 Conference Hotel (Sheraton Boston Hotel) to Myles Standish Hall 1. Subway:

Myles Standish Hall is easily accessible from the Sheraton Boston Hotel, the official AAS 2020 Conference Hotel. The trip should only take 10-15 minutes.

Step 1: From the Sheraton Boston Hotel, walk to the Hynes Convention Center Subway Station

Step 2: There are fare machines inside the station where you can purchase a one-way subway ride from Hynes Convention Center Station to Kenmore Station. The subway ride will cost $2.40.

Step 3: Find the GREEN “Outbound” train, lettered B, C, or D. Be careful NOT to get on the E line (See attached MBTA map). Take the train to Kenmore Station, which is only ONE stop away.

Step 4: Take the right exit from Kenmore Station. Once you get out, you should be on the same street side as the symposium venue. Walk straight ahead, and Myles Standish Hall will be on your left.

2. Taxis, UBER, and Lyft If you prefer to take a taxi, UBER, or Lyft, it should only be a 5-minute ride. The cost can range from $5 to $10 one-way, depending on traffic and price surges.
