The Aromanian Community from Romania Fara Armãneascã dit Romania REPORT on the activity of the “Aromanian Community from Romania” Association between 2004 and 2007 The hereby Activity Report reflects the mission undertaken by our organization, the way we have put into practice the principles of the organization, the projects performed by us on the fulfillment of the objectives set as well as the relationships developed with various partners – non- governmental organizations, national, European and international institutions. The Report describes the activity carried out by the “Aromanian Community from Romania” Association between 2004 and 2007 regarding the cultural activities and projects, the finances received from the state budget, the increase in the number of members and the development of the human resources. A special focus is put on the actions taken in the relationship with the state institutions for the fulfillment of the objectives set. The Aromanian Community from Romania – objectives, mission The Aromanian Community from Romania is aware that when the identity of a people is not well shaped and strong enough, the respective people could leave the stage of history. All the peoples who lost their definition and identity have been taken over by nations which clearly, strongly and effectively affirmed their identity. Definitely, any nation that does not preserve and promote its identity is doomed to have a historical disappearance. The Aromanian Community from Romania has taken over the historical challenge for affirming the identity of the Aromanian people as a separate people from any other people and has undertaken the mission to save from disappearance the Aromanian language, traditions and the entire Aromanian spiritual and cultural features, the only action that could preserve, develop and affirm the Aromanian’s own identity being the de jure acknowledgement and also the registration as a national minority. -

City of Bucharest
City of Bucharest Intercultural Profile 1. Background1 Bucharest is the capital and largest city, as well as the cultural, industrial, and financial centre of Romania. According to the 2011 census, 1,883,425 inhabitants live within the city limits, a decrease from the 2002 census. Taking account of the satellite towns around the urban area, the proposed metropolitan area of Bucharest would have a population of 2.27 million people. However, according to unofficial data given by Wikipedia, the population is more than 3 million (raising a point that will be reiterated throughout this report that statistics are not universally reliable in Romania).Notwithstanding, Bucharest is the 6th largest city in the European Union by population within city limits, after London, Berlin, Madrid, Rome, and Paris. Bucharest accounts for around 23% of the country’s GDP and about one-quarter of its industrial production, while being inhabited by only 10% of the country’s population. In 2010, at purchasing power parity, Bucharest had a per-capita GDP of EUR 14,300, or 45% that of the European Union average and more than twice the Romanian average. Bucharest’s economy is mainly focused on industry and services, with a significant IT services sector. It houses 186,000 companies, and numerous companies have set up headquarters in Bucharest, attracted by the highly skilled labour force and low operating costs. The list includes multinationals such as Microsoft, IBM, P&G, HP, Oracle, Wipro, and S&T. In terms of higher education, Bucharest is the largest Romanian academic centre and one of the most important locales in Eastern Europe, with 16 public and 18 private institutes and over 300,00 students. -

NOTĂ DE FUNDAMENTARE I. Titlul proiectului de act normativ Hotărâre pentru aprobarea Strategiei NaŃionale de Securitate Nucleară, pe anii 2009-2012 II. Motivul emiterii actului normativ 1. Descrierea situaŃiei actuale Contextul naŃional şi internaŃional în care energetica nucleară românească se dezvoltă în prezent este cu totul diferit în raport cu cel existent în anii de început şi cel ulterior anilor 1992-1996. Energetica nucleară românescă este în plină dezvoltare şi are ca obiective majore, punerea în funcŃiune a UnităŃilor 3 şi 4 de la Cernavodă în perioada 2014-2015, aflată pe amplasamentul de la Cernavodă, precum şi construirea unei noi centrale nuclearoelectrice folosind o tehnologie diferită decât cea existentă la Centrala nuclearoelectrică de la Cernavodă (care foloseşte tehnologie CANDU 6 - combustibil uraniu natural şi moderator apă grea). Aceste priorităŃi coroborate cu împlinirea, în decembrie 2010, a 14 ani de la atingerea puterii nominale a UnităŃii 1 de la Centrala Nuclearoelectrică de la Cernavodă (U1) şi finalizarea punerii în funcŃiune a UnităŃii 2 în 2007, conduc la amplificarea responsabilităŃilor României în asigurarea unui control corespunzător al activităŃilor sale în domeniul nuclear. De asemenea, utilizarea surselor de radiaŃii ionizante în învăŃământ, cercetare, industrie, aplicaŃii medicale şi în alte domenii este strict reglementată, autorizată şi controlată. Se asigură astfel protecŃia nucleară şi radiologică a personalului expus profesional, a populaŃiei, a mediului şi a proprietăŃii. În acest proces, România -
