More MICE opportunities as Resort grows The resort’s latest expansion plan and concert success with the city’s new transportation links lead to optimistic MICE outlook

(Hong Kong, June 21, 2018) Hong Kong (HKDL) anticipates continued strong growth for its MICE business. The resort’s ongoing multi-year expansion promises a greater range of entertainment for expanding its portfolio of MICE offerings that showcase the Disney Difference. The new additions also provide brand-new opportunities for the resort to explore more magical event ideas with outside-the-box thinking. Additionally, Hong Kong’s status as the Event Capital of Asia is set to be reinforced with the impending opening of new transportation links with China and better flight access within the Asia Pacific region.

“MICE has been an increasingly important business area for HKDL. The resort provides an incomparable range of flexible venues and diversified activities for more than 600 different MICE events every year on average. In Fiscal Year 2017, the resort recorded a strong double-digit growth in MICE business and the momentum continues. We were also delighted to host six large-scale concerts by a popular Taiwanese rock band, Mayday last month, which each concert can accommodate an audience of around 20,000 people and brought whole new business opportunity to the resort,” said Karen Kwan, business solutions and events director, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. “As the ongoing park expansion delivers new attractions and entertainment almost every year through 2023, we will have more assets to develop blockbuster events with a Disney Difference, backed by the Disney heritage deeply rooted in storytelling and creativity, to help companies deliver messages in compelling ways,” said Kwan.

Exclusive event privileges demonstrated at HKDL tailored buyout programs Disney’s event magic has attracted corporate clients to return for event experiences at HKDL. Nu Skin, a skin care and health nutritional supplement company hosted an and Grizzly Gulch buyout for over 2,000 attendees on June 19. During the event, executive from Nu Skin delivered speech in the new outdoor venue, Jungle Junction to a group of VIP guests, ahead of an exclusive stage of the brand-new atmosphere stage show “: A Homecoming Celebration.” This was also the first time of an exclusive staging of the “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration” for a corporate group. Nu Skin guests also enjoyed private access to various attractions at Adventureland and Grizzly Gulch, immersed in the Africa-themed Karibuni Marketplace, meet with various Disney friends and enjoyed private viewing of the “Festival of ” live show at The Theater in the Wild. The antique Hong Kong Disneyland Railroad Station was reserved for the Nu Skin guests to enjoy a splendid views of “Disney ” parade, ending the unique and unforgettable buyout night on a high note.

“Our guests enjoy the exclusivity at the park and also the heartfelt arrangements that make them feel at home. They find the HKDL events truly unforgettable,” said Danny Luk, General Manager, Hong Kong & Macau, Nu Skin Enterprises Hong Kong, LLC.

HKDL’s multi-year expansion adds magical assets to MICE repertoire The new atmosphere stage show, “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration,” launched last month, is the first entertainment offering from the resort’s ongoing multi-year expansion, and Nu Skin was the first to integrate the show into its event program. As the park’s most interactive and immersive show yet, the 20-minute live show is rich with authentic Polynesian cultural elements, inspirational visual storytelling, dancing, puppetry and music. It is the newest entertainment option for smaller corporate groups to enjoy an exclusive buyout event, tailored with corporate elements and executive interaction with Moana and performers.

Event planners can start imagining how to leverage the upcoming attractions and entertainment to create unforgettable events that could only stage at HKDL, leaving attendees with memories that last a lifetime. The second Marvel ride-through experience at the resort, that invites guests to team-up with Ant-Man and The , targets to open in 2019. The transformation of the park’s iconic centerpiece, the castle, has also begun. The newly transformed venue will be home to a new daytime show and nighttime spectacular in 2020. HKDL will also be welcoming an all-new, immersive -themed area in 2021, where guests can experience unique attractions and entertainment.

New transportation links create opportunities to woo short-haul MICE markets Improved transportation links with China via the soon-to-open Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Hong Kong section of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, coupled with the growing number of direct flights and low-cost carriers offering more budget-friendly travel options, will make HKDL more accessible to corporate groups in short-haul destinations. “With the enhanced connectivity and closer transportation links, HKDL will double efforts to reach out to target markets in China and Asia to promote the resort as an easily accessible all-in-one destination for hosting impressive and effective MICE activities of any scale and format,” Kwan said.

“With an expanding range of more than 100 entertainment shows and attractions in our world-class theme park, three hotels offering a total of 1,750 guest rooms, award-winning catering services, flexible and event- ready venues and all kinds of tailored meeting packages, HKDL as one of the leading event destinations in Asia, will strive to reinforcing the positioning of Hong Kong as “event capital of Asia” to boost the tourism industry by attracting more tourists,” Kwan added.

HKDL offers various hotel accommodation options for corporate groups at its three themed hotels - the lavish Victorian palace nestled along the shores of the South China Sea, Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, the exotic Disney Explorers Lodge surrounded by the wonders of nature and diverse cultures, and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel in the glitz and grandeur of classic Hollywood. The dedicated Conference Center with three pillar-free ballrooms can be configured for events of any size; and outdoor lawns and garden areas are ideal for alfresco networking, cocktail parties or corporate dinner.
