View from Downie Lodge Dalriada Luxury Lodges sit on the extreme eastern end of the Highland Boundary Fault, a geological feature that slices diagonally through from to the Isle of Arran. Beneath the lodges lies Dalradian rock formed 480 million years ago during the birth of Welcome to Dalriada, the Scottish Highlands. The lodges are owned and run by the McAlpine family, where luxury meets who may be linked to Kenneth MacAlpin, the outdoors... the first King of Scotland!

The 5 star lodges are ideally situated on a secluded site a short distance from the thriving seaside town of Stonehaven. Their elevated position above the picturesque bay provides expansive views seaward towards Dunnottar Castle. We believe that self-catering means Our Lodges independence and a chance to set your own timetable, but that shouldn’t mean that luxury isn’t an option. Each of our architecturally-designed lodges has been crafted to create a comfortable and stylish home from home, tastefully decorated with a modern, classic interior and comfortable living/ dining areas with south facing aspects.

The two generous bedrooms are complete with en-suite facilities which can be made up with either super–king size or twin beds. Our kitchens are sleek and a delight to use with everything you need for a self-catering break. We believe we’ve thought of everything, from a corkscrew to the kitchen sink!

There are lots of things to do in the countryside that surrounds Dalriada, and each lodge has its own personal kit house for safe and secure storage of everything from bikes to golf trolleys or fishing rods, your only dilemma will be choosing an activity.

Every lodge has a south-facing deck creating an ideal haven for breakfast at sunrise or an evening dram as the sun sets. We are more than happy for you to bring your well-behaved pets to enjoy a holiday too. The lodges have been named after the spectacular sea cliff inlets that make the Stonehaven coastline so varied and interesting. All lodges are south facing 7 with a variety of views and vistas to suit all tastes.
