Studios (formerly known as EMI Recording Studios) is located at: 3, Abbey Road, St John's Wood, , , .

The first studio was established in November 1931 by the Gramophone Company, a predecessor of British music company EMI, which owned it until Universal Music took control of part of EMI in 2013. Abbey Road Studios

It is most notable as being the ' venue for innovative recording techniques adopted by as well as , the Hollies, and others.

One of its earliest world-famous-artist clients was Paul Robeson. He first recorded there in December 1931. Following more than 6 months of negotiation, and one very early morning visit, we have been successful in acquiring Abbey Road Studios for the 2019 National Rock and Pop Festival. SMS are the first Music Service in the country to book this World Famous facility. It is our intention to invite selected Primary and Junior Schools and all our Secondary Schools to the event as well as featuring SMS and SMC ensembles. In addition to these, direct invitations to selected National bands will be made .

We hope that performing at such an famous iconic venue will inspire the next generation of musicians.

The event will take place on Wednesday July 3rd 2019. Studio 1 will be the main venue for the concert, with the iconic Studio 2 being used for a smaller concert.

Studio 1

Studio 2 This is a massive project (and exciting!) so we need our pupils and bands to be focussed and playing to the highest standard.
