Charlie has extensive experience handling notable international arbitrations in both the commercial and investor / state arenas. He has appeared as advocate both in the English High Court and in many arbitral proceedings, and advised on international disputes in a variety of sectors, including energy, defense, infrastructure and telecommunications. He is also a frequent speaker and author concerning matters of international arbitration and both private and public international law.
Charlie is listed in the annual Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration guide featuring the foremost arbitration practitioners aged 45 and under, which notes that he is “a well-known and effective advocate” endorsed for his “brilliant strategic mind and masterful advocacy.” He has been named a “leading individual” for international arbitration by The Legal 500 UK, ranked in Chambers UK and included in the 2020 edition of The Best Lawyers UK for his work in international arbitration.

Mélida focuses her practice on investor-state and commercial arbitrations, counseling governments and state- owned entities, as well as corporate entities, with respect to international investment protection provisions, business disputes and World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute resolution and international trade policy issues. Mélida is a former associate general counsel at the Office of the US Trade Representative. There, she negotiated the new generation of bilateral investment treaties and free trade agreements; litigated international trade disputes before the WTO; provided counsel in NAFTA Chapter 11 investor-state arbitrations involving the United States, Canada and Mexico; and defended the United States in ad hoc arbitrations between the United States and Canada.
Mélida has been recognized in Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration 2019 and annually by Latinvex as one of the top 100 lawyers whose practice focuses on Latin America. She is also recognized by Chambers & Partners in their Global, US and Latin America rankings.

Prior to joining the firm, Patrick was the youngest chief of Investment Arbitration in the history of the United States and successfully defended the United States from more than US$15 billion worth of claims.

Rachael is a solicitor-advocate with significant experience of representing states, corporate clients and high-net worth individuals in cross-border disputes under the ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL and Swiss Rules of International Arbitration and before the English, British Virgin Islands and Isle of Man courts.
