Travel through exquisite cites of Asturias and Galicia regions on this 8-day journey. This self drive and train combination adventure allows you to explore this majestic country at your own leisure. Your journey starts in and takes you to , Cangas de Onis, , and A Coruna.

Itinerary Day 1 - Welcome to Madrid

Our representative meets you at the airport and takes you to your hotel. Day 2 - The Sights of Oviedo

After breakfast our driver takes you to the train station for your journey to Oviedo. Upon arrival you are transferred to your hotel. Later you visit the city's important monuments like Santa María del Naranco and . In the evening you can pick up your rental car at a locally appointed spot. (B) Day 3 - Discover the Asturias towns

This morning you may travel to Cangas de Onis, (72 Km approx.) the first capital of the kingdom. Admire its Roman bridge over the River Sella. Continue your journey to (11 km approx.) with the Sanctuary of the Virgin known as La Santina or to Lagos de Covadonga (12 Km approx.). You may also choose to travel to charming Ribadesella (36 Km approx.). Return to Oviedo (85 km approx.) for an overnight.(B) Day 4 - The White Village of the Green Coast

Today depart for the Asturian coast, and visit the typical fishing villages like (68 km approx.) and Luarca (38 Km approx.) "The White Village of the Green Coast". Later drive to A Coruña (200 km approx.) and explore the Riazor beach and María Pita Square. (B) Day 5 - Discover Pontevedra This day brings you to Pontevedra, (134 Km approx.) you may travel along the Atlantic Coast, reaching Muxía and stroll along the harbor to the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Barca. Continue to where you can visit the Fortress of Tapal. Follow the de to Ribeira and go through the Ria de Arousa to Padrón. Overnight in Pontevedra. (B) Day 6 - The Majestic de Compostela Visit the magical town of (63 km approx.) named by UNESCO a World Heritage City. Take a walk to the tomb of St. James, Portico de la Gloria, the hostel of Catholic Kings. In the afternoon you may travel to (65 km approx.) and and enjoy a glass-bottom boat ride. Return to Pontevedra. (28 km approx.) (B) Day 7 - Train Journey to Madrid

After breakfast drive to the train station, where you drop off the car and take the train to Madrid. Upon arrival in Madrid you will be transferred to your hotel. (B)

(B) Destination Information A Coruna A Coruña or La Coruña is the second largest city in Galicia in northwestern Spain, second only in size to the port of in Pontevedra Province. The city is the capital of A Coruña Province. It had been the province capital from 1833 to 1982 before that role was taken over by Santiago de Compostela. A Coruña is a busy port located on a promontory in the entrance of an in a large gulf on the . It provides a distribution point for agricultural goods from the region. Although much of the heavy industry is based on the shipyards and metalworks of the neighbouring city of , there is an oil refinery in A Coruña itself.

Cangas de Onís is a in the eastern part of the autonomous community of Asturias in northwest Spain. It was the site of the first church constructed in post-conquest , de Cangas de Onís (737), built on an ancient .
